A terrible place. All started in the morning, when me and my husband went there to grab some grilled squids. The place looked promising indeed: located right on the shore, offers incredible views and attractive dishes. What could go wrong? Firstly, the waiting time was announced to be 30 mins, then it stretched to an hour. Since we had a boat trip booked at a certain time we couldn’t afford waiting for any time longer than was initially agreed and we left. Later on, on the same day we were wandering around the city and I went to that restaurant once again just to use the bathroom. Once I got out 3 of the waiters attacked me speaking Portuguese. At first I didn’t get what was going on since I don’t speak Portuguese. All of them looked rather aggressive which looked completely different from the morning shift we had met earlier that day. Some moments after I figured out that were insisting on paying for using the bathroom. I must admit it might sound fair and I never refused to pay if it was mentioned. Só I tried to explain them that I’m ready to pay but since none of them spoke English they just got even angrier saying something like: she is an American nothing to talk about here. I felt very humiliated. I offered to pay or to buy something to compensate my ‘visit’. And eventually succeeded bying a bottle of water. No one said sorry. No one tried to explain or to fix the situation. I felt terrible. This experience is so different from any other experience I’ve ever had in Brazil. And it’s not my first time here, guys. Read moreFui no dia 17/05 no Mané, um restaurante que tem diversas unidades no RJ e que eu frequento com alguma frequência. Chegando no mané me deparei com uma vista linda em frente a praia, logo depois de sentar a experiência foi amargando, ficamos cerca de 20 min para sermos atendidos e conseguirmos fazer o pedido, quando fomos atendidos por descuido nosso não identificamos que o prato executivo era apenas de segunda a sexta e nós fomos no sábado, simplesmente o garçom nos entregou o cardápio novamente sinalizando que era apenas de segunda a sexta e deu as costas, não houve direcionamento pro cardápio, sugestão, muito menos um atendimento cordial, e lá se foi mais 10 min pra sermos atendidos novamente e essa mesma demora ocorreu para pagar a conta e detalhe o restaurante não estava cheio. A comida estava boa, não temos o que reclamar, gastamos cerca de 160 reais para duas pessoas em um prato de contra filé com fritas, arroz e farofa ( média de prato na cidade). Read moreWhat a FANTASTIC place. The staff is super friendly. Our waiter (Rickson) was AMAZING. Speak great english and guided through the entire experience. We got a great view and the food was INCREDIBLE (see photos).
