This was by far my worst stay at a hotel/hostel. Do yourself a favor and search for a "pousada" instead. There are tons of them but most don't seem to be listed on trip advisor.||||Pros: ||- Nice view||||Cons:||- No wifi in the bedroom; it only worked in the courtyard area. Screens are extremely difficult to use in the sun, so we didn't have internet access for our stay. Internet access is important for booking tickets, making travel plans, etc. The unplugged router was clearly visible, yet was never fixed.||- Cleaning staff took our towels when they made up the room. Never got them back. These were my favorite towels that I brought from home. ||- Did not understand why the things in my suitcase were moved around. ||- Ants galore. In the room and woke up to many bites in the morning. When I went downstairs for breakfast they were snacking on the breakfast food too.||- More mosquitoes than ants. They would get in even with all the doors closed. Would take 15 minutes before bed to kill them and hid under my sheets while sleeping, and still woke up to 10 new bites throughout the night.||- Dirty floors. Floor was sandy and dirty and had to designate a separate foot towel the first day to wipe feet off before getting into bed.||- Had to wear a wristband during entire stay. This may not bother some people but I am a person who doesn't like to wear anything around the wrist. This is easily solvable with scissors and securing with a piece of tape while in the hostel.||- Overall apathy of both the front desk staff and other staff. The environment here is really odd. The front desk staff had no interest in helping when we asked for Buzios recommendations.||- if you want to go to bed before 2am, don't stay here. The bed shakes from both the bar music downstairs and from the night club across the street.||- Flimsy door lock. Wish it had a deadbolt or something stronger.||- Patio lock did not work, therefore door was...
Read moreBuzios was our final stop at the end of a 4 month trip round south America, and we were looking to chill out for a few nights, which we quickly extended to an 11 night stay! ||Nomad Seashore is not only set in a perfect location because of its own staircase to access the beach, but it's also in the Centro area surrounded on all sides by restaurants, bars and shops, so you never have to stumble too far to find something to do. |The other bonus to the location is that you can easily walk to the majority of the peninsulas beaches, our favourite Ferradura was only 1.2 miles away, an easy 30 minute walk. ||What truly made this hostel special though were the staff, particularly the girls on reception! They always gave us a friendly hello as we passed through reception, and helped us out with extending our stay, airport transfers and nightclub tickets! They truly made us feel like nothing was ever any trouble and we were like one of the family :-) ||Breakfast was also delightful, a real asset to this place! And cleanliness was a high priority, with a daily towel and linen service and room clean. Can't recommend this...
Read moreLocation||||For a budget hotel in this area, the location is great. Patio area with direct access onto one of the quieter beaches. It's right in the centre of town and about a 15-20 min walk to Joao Fernandes. Great Italian restaurant attached to it. ||||Rooms / Amenities||||We stayed in a private double room on the first floor. Our window looked out on the common area, we didn't have beach views. The bar area was a great place to enjoy breakfast or an apres-beach caipi with a great view of the beach. ||||Only issues we had were that some guests were rather noisy in the bar late into the night and as our room was adjacent to it and looked into the common courtyard area, the noise did keep us up one night. ||||It poured a couple of the days we were there and the bar area had big leaks coming through the roof, a little trickled into our room. There was definitely slight mould on the walls and a faint smell of mildew, so that part could use some work. But otherwise the room had great character. The bathroom was spacious with hot water and was cleaned...
