One of the worst experiences we had in Brazil, the only good aspect is that we didn't get food poisoning.

From the woman at the door looking down her nose at us but not doing much else, to the inept waiter, absolutely mediocre food and poor atmosphere this place is desperately trying to come across as upmarket and failing at every point. While most of these are minor, they all add up to a establishment not having any idea what they are doing.

We felt unwelcome by the staff, possibly because we were dressed like tourists but it we all definitely noticed a sense of being judged and watched. Ironic since of all the places we've been to, they did not measure up in any way.

We were seated directly next to another table despite the restaurant being mostly empty. A bit of space would have been appreciated.

Our drinks were served relatively quickly but had to be replaced due to dirty glasses. We were served an amuse-bouche which absolutely did not amuse our mouths. Tasteless, jumbled mix of strange ingredients. More of a warning than a promise of what was to come. Our meals were served to the wrong people, just randomly placed in front of us. The pizzas were overloaded with toppings, unseasoned and bland. The lasagna tasted like it had been frozen and reheated in a microwave.

When we asked to split the bill, the waiter wasn't able to divide the cost in two, despite him using two phones. We suggested he go and ask the restaurant manager for help. I guess this was a memorable dinner for us, but not for good reasons.

Gostaria de deixar registrado o meu apreço pela experiência gastronômica que tive no Restaurante IOCÁ, em João Pessoa. Desde o momento em que entrei até o último prato, tudo foi simplesmente impecável.

As entradas merecem destaque especial. O filet mignon com gorgonzola foi, sem dúvida, uma das melhores combinações que já tive o prazer de degustar. Se estiver na dúvida, aconselho pedir. A entrada de couvert de piadinha, acompanhada do chutney de tomate, estava absolutamente perfeita, com um sabor delicado e equilibrado, complementado pela saladinha de berinjela, que foi um verdadeiro deleite para o paladar. Juro, perfeito!

Os pratos principais foram muito bons! A massa com cupim defumado e a massa com carne de sol estavam entre as mais saborosas e leves que já experimentei. Muitas vezes quando você pede uma massa com proteína, depois de comer, a gente fica meio cheio, mas essas duas, foram extremamente leves.

A sobremesa foi o grande final para uma refeição maravilhosa. A panacota de iogurte com sorvete de cajá foi uma combinação muito boa de frescor e cremosidade, enquanto a opção de chocolate com pistache foi simplesmente divina, era como se fosse um torrezinha a sobremesa, muito bonita. Ambas impecáveis, fechando com chave de ouro essa refeição.

Não posso deixar de mencionar o atendimento excepcional do garçom Ítalo, que foi atencioso, educado e eficiente do início ao fim. Ele fez com que nossa experiência fosse ainda mais agradável e personalizada.

Por fim, vale ressaltar o excelente trabalho do bar, especialmente do Negroni, que, sem dúvida, é o melhor que já experimentei em João Pessoa. Um drink perfeitamente equilibrado, PARABÉNS ao mixologista.
