UPDATED REVIEW I will NEVER eat here again. This was our second time dining here (we had lunch here a month ago, and the food and service were both excellent), so I wanted to have dinner. It turned into the worst service I’ve ever had the displeasure to experience. We arrived at 7:30 and were seated, and our waiter, who I shall not name, introduced himself. We ordered a wine and 2 appetizers: I ordered a shrimp dish and my wife ordered a salad Niçoise, but when she ordered, she wanted to be sure they didn’t overcook the tuna and asked that the waiter tell the kitchen she just wanted the tuna sealed (“selada”); she also told him that if the tuna was overcooked, she would send it back (we have had this issue of overcooked fish in Brazilian restaurants several times). About 15 minutes later, another waiter delivered my appetizer to the table. Assuming my wife’s dish was taking a little longer, we shared my appetizer. By the time we finished mine, her appetizer still did not come, so I looked for our waiter to ask him to see why it was taking so long. It appeared that our waiter had forgotten not only to ask for the doneness that my wife wanted, but had actually forgotten to put in the order. Finally, the waiter placed my wife’s appetizer on the table 1 hour and 15 minutes after we arrived, and sure enough, the tuna was over-done. She cut it open and showed the waiter—it was so overcooked as to look like tuna from a can. He offered to have it re-made, but I said we had already waited over 30 minutes for a salad and didn’t want to wait another half-hour for it, so my wife asked for a different appetizer (something we had eaten for lunch the month prior, lingua croquettes, which we really enjoyed). We also asked for another bottle of wine to kill the time. While waiting for the croquettes, the manager brought another salad Niçoise, which, by the way also had overcooked tuna. I explained to him that we told the waiter we absolutely did not want to try a second time on this dish, so he took it away. When the croquettes finally came, they were flavorless and unseasoned, so we didn’t even finish them. At this point, the manager asked us if we wanted to order our main course. I told him, “first, please cancel our request for a second bottle of wine”, because, unsurprisingly, the waiter had not yet brought the second bottle. I thought for a second and said that we had already been in the restaurant 90 minutes and nothing had gone right, so I would prefer if he just brought the check. This was the very first time in a restaurant that the service or food had been so bad, that I did not finish the meal. Who is to blame? Certainly, the waiter, who was either having a bad night or is just a bad waiter; certainly also the manager, who, instead of coming to our table after we sent the dish back, consulted with the waiter instead; and possibly the chef in the kitchen, who either didn’t read the ticket, or didn’t ask the waiter how the customer wanted the fish prepared. It is interesting to note that we had lunch in Iocá (the hotel’s other restaurant) the same day, and it was great; but in January, we had eaten dinner there and the service was terrible (it was that same day that we first ate in Orama and liked it). Maybe the hotel simply cannot serve a good dinner? I only know I would never waste my time in this restaurant again, and I don’t think you...

Read moreGorgeous restaurant on the roof of a very nice hotel. Incredible view, fast and friendly service, and good food. A couple of minor service misses though. First they would not offer a paper menu for my elderly mother in-law even after we asked for one. This is such an easy accommodation for the restaurant and an incredible inconvenience for a customer with a disability. Second they served my whiskey sour in a plastic cup while simultaneously serving other patrons the same drink in the correct glass, I found this highly offensive for such an expensive drink. Third, my moqueca was served without the octopus listed on the menu, the manager quickly fixed this but I had to ask for it, the dish should have never made it to the table without the octopus. All the food including shrimp dish, moqueca, kids meals and filet mignon were delicious as were the drinks. Would definitely recommend to friends and family with a warning to not have too high of expectations for...
