I actually planned my stay in Manaus around going to this restaurant. And I throughly enjoyed it! Very nice people working there. And the food was wonderful! I had the ants (both versions) and the ant farofa as "Entradas": The ants are interesting, especially the one that tastes of citrus/lemongrass (Sahai), the other one tastes less exciting special but is thicker "scarier" ;-) And they are served quite Instagrammable ;-) - see Image. As main dish I had the very spicy fish soup and the fish was just an amazing experience. Loved it. And if you drink alcohol try one of those fermented drinks. They are made in the restaurant and taste very organic/real, interesting and have the alcoholic effect of a small beer maybe, not brutally hardcore. As a sweet finish I had this dish that says "farinha, agua, formiga". This is extremely basic, bordering on concept art. This is just that: throw some water onto farinha and eat. No sweetness, nothing else. I applaud the restaurant for keeping it real. I was diappointed as I had expected a twist or at least something sweet but I excepted the challenge and viewed it as a kind of art piece: you have water, you have farinha. Is there meaning? What is missing and why is it missing and can you except the basicness of what you have? Before I now leave into philosophical clouds I would just say: as a sweet finish maybe better buy the sweet banana dish ;-) I totally recommend the restaurant and am very happy to have experienced the interesting food there.

In a small house, one has the chance to eat traditional indigenous food. One of their main specialties are ants, which they have 3 different types. The staff only speak Portuguese, but they were really kind and helpful in their recommendations. The space is rather small, but on weekdays there's usually a space. During busier seasons, I would recommend sending them a Whatsapp message and reserving a space.

We only ordered two Tambaqui barbecues, but since they were out of that option, they brought us a more expensive fish. This was okay, but they also brought an extra fish soup that we did not order (we assumed it was part of the main meal). As a result, we ended up paying 80 Reais more than we had intended. By the way, if they bring the ants for the test, you will pay 22 reais for 7-8 ants. There is not a large amount...
