Decent Spot with Potential, but Disappointing Portions and Service
Casa Castanha has a great location and a lot of potential, but unfortunately, our experience fell short. For the prices they charge, the portions are quite small—especially the combo menu, which doesn’t match what’s described. It really feels like they’re trying to cut costs.
The sandwich was an absolute bummer. The menu promises a slow-roasted pig loin sandwich, but what you actually get is a greasy hamburger brioche overloaded with sauce and more salad than meat. Very disappointing.
Service was another issue. It was slow and forgetful, even though the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. My friend had to wait so long for his coffee that he eventually went into the kitchen himself to get it! Coffee, which should normally come first, arrived after we had finished eating ( and the cup was half empty...)—this is something that needs to be improved immediately.
On the bright side, the cheese waffles with Nutella and ricotta held what they promised and were a good snack. A small highlight in an otherwise underwhelming experience.

Read moreOk I ordered cappuccino, it was just foam and tasted like hot milk, so I asked a stronger one, so they basically added an espresso to my bill without confirming with me or telling me. and I payed more than 30r for this horrible coffee. I ordered a banana cake and the manu has banana cake, I received a chocolate cake (I thought maybe thats how they make banana cakes) then I saw on my bill “chocolate cake of the day” if you dont have something so you can say oh sorry we don’t have it. Dont just add something else to my bill
Also had oily eggs, Over all payed over 80r for a place that doesn’t worth it. Not tasty, wired service. The place is well designed and looks...

A real shame, waiting for new barra spaces with owners who value the human side and how special the staff is to the charm of a business, finding staff with human quality is complicated and losing that staff is...
