Basilikum – Italian-Brazilian hospitality on the Third Beach
After a 20-minute walk from the village center along the beach, we discovered a peaceful and idyllic restaurant at the Third Beach: Basilikum. The place is beautifully laid out with a large roofed terrace, and the owner – like many here – is Italian, which is clearly reflected in the menu.
We had initially hoped for a good pizza. A large, traditional clay oven at the entrance had us dreaming of an authentic Neapolitan pie. Unfortunately, the staff told us the oven hadn’t been heated for 2–3 days and currently wasn’t in use at all – a pity, as this would have added a unique touch to the place.
Instead, we opted for a local-style Brazilian ceviche, along with a burrata served with pesto and genuine Italian prosciutto. The appetizers were well prepared, though a bit too large for starters.
For the main course, we had a delicious moqueca, a traditional Brazilian fish stew. Unlike in many other restaurants, the fish wasn’t overcooked but tender and full of flavor.
To finish, we did get a true taste of Italy: an authentic grappa, served at just the right temperature.
The staff was warm and welcoming, and the management clearly takes pride in the quality of service. A charming blend of Italian flair and Brazilian warmth – we highly...

My carbonara was almost perfect (I just missed the spoon to eat the pasta), and we also ordered a very nice Caesar's salad. Prices are fair for the quality, and servers are super nice. Be aware you may bump into groups of children playing around the resort, so maybe not the best for a quiet date night. Otherwise, the experience was...
