Flamboyant Rock Restaurant F.Noronha — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata do Recife

Very cool restaurant located in one of the busiest areas of the island. We got there early (around 7 PM) and they were playing music over the loudspeakers. Before leaving (40 minutes later) a musician arrive to play live. We ordered a Moqueca de Peixe e Camarao which is one the house' specialty dishes and an all time Brazilian classic. It's like a casserole made of fish, shrimp, bell peppers, tomato, onion and coconut milk. You can choose up to three sides. We ordered cashew rice, macaxeira gratinada, salad and feixao (beans). It was really delicious. Very tasty and but not so fishy flavored. Worth trying. Bear in mind that Noronha has a very limited stock of local fish and produce. The restaurants that serve authentic local food occasionally run out of fish (mostly during the high season when the island is full...

Food was really bad. Overcooked chicken like a rock and the veg and salad were not fresh. Unfortunately Fernando De Noroinha is not a good place to visit if you want to eat well. De fácil localização, basta chegar na praça Flamboyant e o estabelecimento se destaca. Trabalham com um cardápio extenso, de peixes a massas, até pizzas servem. Diz a lenda que quando um estabelecimento tem um cardápio muito extenso, o resultado são pratos feitos sem tanta qualidade… Dito e feito. Pedi o Peixe com Camarões, e foi uma das refeições mais sem graça que fiz na ilha. O peixe era minúsculo, fora do ponto, pouco sabor. Os camarões eram ok, posso dizer que foi o que salvou o prato do desastre. As batatas chegaram frias, assim como o arroz. Quando fui, estava bem cheio. O atendimento demorou, assim como o tempo para trazerem o pedido até a mesa. Ponto positivo: o ambiente é muito gostoso, rock respirando no som ao vivo e um clima de informalidade fazem o charme da casa.
