The restaurant is beautifully designed to match with the modern cuisine it serves. The open-square wooden island in the middle is the place to sit if you want to catch all the action behind the scenes. For larger groups, nearby tables provide ample exposition to the open concept kitchen where we can see chef and his team in the heat of the action.
The restaurant offers an extensive à la carte menu, but I recommend opting for the “Omakase” 6-course menu. This modern japanese gastronomic experience can be complemented with a wine or sake pairing. I went for the sake pairing, which was a great complement to the food. For those who are less acquainted with the taste of sake, the wine pairing will certainly accompany the menu appropriately. With your food prepared right before your eyes, it truly feels like you have a personal chef taking care of you! The quality of the courses does not disappoint. With locally-sourced ingredients, the cuisine is tasteful and simple. I definitely consider this one of the best japanese culinary experience I have had, especially when considering the local Brazilian twist! Thank you to the team for making this an evening to remember; I look forward...
Read moreThe quality of the food was made even worse by the quality of the service. The waiter did not know what he was serving his and outright lied about some of the fish we were eating. We ordered 2 bottles of sake and after the first one the waiter asked,”wow did that take you guys 15 minutes to finish?” He was annoyed when we poured our own sake because he didn’t come around to serve us and actually disappeared mid way through our course. The sashimi was cut too thick and their salmon cheek dish had so many bones and was so salty it was inedible. My wife and daughter left mid way through the Omakase meal. Omakase means trust the chef and I wouldn’t trust this chef to cook make me a tuna sandwich let alone another expensive sushi meal. We will not be returning to this restaurant. I never experienced the dread of the dishes to come and we left without finishing the...
Read moreOmakase zen is such disappointment, such a dull flavors, please don't order that. We ordered shiso special from a la carte and compared to omakase it has the same exactly variety of raw fish and sushi as omakase course but it was twice cheaper than omakase. The service is bad, they have enough servers for each table, but the table was not properly cleaned while we were seating with pile of dishes, I didn't expect this from Michelin star restaurant. The waiters don't come to the table and check if everything alright after they bring out dishes. So overall review is overpriced, nothing special just regular sushi place, quality don't matched with price, oversalted. After while our waitress aka hostess Tanu gave up coming to our...
