I stayed at Sleep Inn Guarulhos because LATAM rebooked me after a missed connection. Unfortunately, the experience was stressful and left me feeling unsafe.
When I arrived at the hotel around 11:20 p.m., the restaurant was already closed. To be clear, it does operate during regular business hours — but because of the late arrival, the only option left was bottled water and a pre-packaged sandwich from the convenience area. After a long travel day, this was disappointing.
The hotel itself didn’t make a great impression either. The entrance was under construction, so my Uber driver had to circle around to confirm we were at the right place. In the room, the bed was very low, small, and hard, making it uncomfortable to rest.
The worst part, however, was the behavior of one staff member. Only a few minutes after I entered my room, a young male employee knocked on my door uninvited, claiming the hotel wanted to bring me breakfast in the room because of my “early flight.” That was not true — my flight was at 10:35 a.m., and the restaurant opens for breakfast at 6:00 a.m. I politely refused.
Minutes later, the same employee called my room. At first, he offered me another water bottle. Then he crossed a line by asking for my Instagram account, complimenting my appearance, and saying he wanted to keep in touch. This was highly unprofessional and made me feel unsafe.
As a frequent traveler, I have stayed in hotels worldwide, and nothing like this has ever happened to me. That night, I barricaded my door with furniture and left my computer recording because I no longer trusted that I would be left alone.
To be fair, the check-in was quick and the room was clean. But no traveler should have to deal with harassment or feel unsafe inside a hotel — especially one provided by an airline to help during an already stressful trip. Combined with the uncomfortable facilities, this experience was unacceptable.
I cannot recommend this hotel, especially for solo travelers. Safety and professionalism should always come first, and unfortunately, I did not find...

Read moreWe waited 20 minutes for the shuttle, then gave up and took a taxi, that cost only 30 Reais. The hotel is not so close to the airport as one might think, and as is suggested by the hotel's advertisements. We paid 200 Real for a 2 hours stay (quick nap, showering then travel on). That is expensive, considering that at that time a whole night costed around 258 Real. But we were in desperate need of a shower and a nap, and the hotel inside of the airport is a disgrace, I'd rather sleep in a hostel than in this favela dump. They took copies of all our passports, and took all our data, which took around 10 minutes. Still, we had to pay beforehand. The reception was understaffed and unfriendly. The male receptionist refused to issue an invoice on payment, which I found quite strange and is probably illegal. Nobody speaks a word of english. The room itself was small but nice. Clean, enough towels, hot water, comfortable beds. Aircon works fine. The airport is near, but not too loud. We slept well. The Wifi is really hard to get in. First you have to give your email address again, personal data, then your room number and name ... takes forever, annoying. Internet speed is fast, but what a...
