Seu Boteco — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata do Recife

I arrived in Recife and wanted to explore the Marco Zero area, where the city began. The atmosphere at Seu Boteco seemed inviting, so I decided to give it a try. The space was lively, with natural light, a big screen, and plenty of people enjoying themselves. The staff was kind and treated me well, which I appreciated.

📝 The Menu & Service The menu offered a variety of reasonably priced options. I ordered a moqueca, which took 25 minutes to arrive. Unfortunately, the fish (peixe amarela) had an unpleasant taste and texture. A staff member, who was very polite, agreed to replace it without hesitation. I opted for tilapia with mashed potatoes and fries.

🍴 The Food While the replacement dish showed effort, it still didn’t satisfy me. The tilapia was overcooked, and the overall quality of the ingredients was disappointing.

💰 The Price The meal cost me 58 BRL plus a 10% mandatory service charge (a “forced tip”). While the prices seemed reasonable at first, the quality of the food didn’t justify the cost.

Avoid at all costs. Honestly coming to a highly trafficked tourist location was my first mistake. But the lack of friendly demeanor when I entered the establishment should have sent me running. Unfortunately I had not eaten all day and felt compelled to give this location a chance. I ordered the Frango Thai dish and the Frango was overcooked and the batatas came out cold. My first experience with the restaurant was ok, we had a great time but prices are really high. Our second experience was horrible,. Waiters did not come to our table to take orders and the manager even dodged when we asked him to find us another table and told us to "wait in the stairs". How do you treat your clients like this?
