Stunning serene beach with beautiful peaceful water. No waves. We saw turtles every day around us in the water! ||Great Live music every day. Great restaurant. Great breakfast wwith fresh fruits.||Day trippers come by trail or boat or paddle boat to spend the day, and make a fun atmosphere but before and after are very peaceful. ||The resident cat and dogs who adopted the place are so friendly and cuddly and clean.||The rooms are sufficient. Very basic. Nothing luxurious. Could use some beautifying. But if you're looking for luxury or extravagance , you will not find it on ilha grande. It's a very bohemian Island, laid back and relaxed. Here it's all about the nature, beaches, trekking, waterfalls, paddle boarding. But with this much beauty around you, what else do you need?!||If you do not speak Portuguese, download Google translate Brazilian Portuguese on your phone. It's a life saver! No-one speaks English in the hotel and on most of the island. However, they are all so friendly and helpful, they all use Google translate themselves. First things first - the location and natural setting of the pousada is beautiful. The small beach is lovely and attracts only a few other relaxation seekers (mainly arriving by taxi boat) in addition to the hotel guests. Some equipment (umbrellas, beach chairs, standup paddle, ... were free to use for guests). Our room was ok in size (one double and one single bed), but very moist and time-worn. Especially the cleanliness of the bathroom was a major downside. Some renovation work was going on so that might improve soon. On top of this, e.g. the patio with a couple of lounge chairs in the garden was very dirty and simply not well looked after. Bar and restaurant are ok, but relatively expensive and not very inviting (plastic chairs and tables). Breakfast was nice and rich. The transfer to and from the place with bags is only possible by boat which can easily be organized by email (or better WhatsApp) with the host. Make sure you arrange a transfer back to the pousada if you are going to town for dinner which was kind of tricky with the host not speaking...
