No visit to Vrindavan is complete without a stop at Brijwasi Sweets – an iconic establishment that has been serving generations of devotees and food lovers alike. Nestled on the bustling Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg, just minutes from Banke Bihari Temple, Brijwasi is more than just a sweet shop; it is a legacy rooted in the rich spiritual and culinary traditions of Braj Bhoomi.

A Brand with Heritage

Founded in Mathura, the Brijwasi brand has become synonymous with high-quality sweets prepared in the traditional Indian way. Their Vrindavan outlet continues this legacy, blending old-world charm with modern efficiency. The name "Brijwasi" itself evokes nostalgia and trust, especially among Krishna devotees, as the brand is deeply associated with the culture of Mathura-Vrindavan – the land of Lord Krishna.

What to Order – Signature Delights

The shop offers a treasure trove of mithai and snacks that cater to every palate:

Mathura Peda – The hero of the menu. Rich, slightly grainy, and perfectly sweet, it melts in your mouth. It’s the quintessential Brij delicacy and an ideal prasad for temple visits.

Kaju Katli & Kesar Barfi – Rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. Great for festive gifting or indulgent snacking.

Ghewar, Balushahi & Rasmalai – These seasonal specialties are fresh, rich, and full of flavor. Ghewar especially is a must-try during Sawan and festive periods.

Samosas, Kachoris & Bedai – Not just a sweet shop, Brijwasi excels in savory snacks too. Their kachori-sabzi combo is a crowd favorite and ideal for a satisfying breakfast or evening snack.

Chaat Corner – If you're craving something tangy, don’t miss their papdi chaat, dahi bhalla, and aloo tikki. Fresh yogurt and homemade spices elevate the experience.

Lassi & Thandai – Cool off with a traditional Brijwasi lassi or a glass of thick saffron thandai, especially refreshing after a temple darshan.

Hygiene, Service & Experience

The shop maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, even during peak hours. The layout is spacious, with seating available for families. The staff is courteous and patient, helping even first-time visitors with recommendations. Orders are handled quickly, even when the shop is crowded – which is almost always, especially on weekends and festivals.

Why It’s Special

Brijwasi isn’t just a food stop – it’s a part of the Vrindavan experience. Its sweets are offered in temples, carried home as blessings, and gifted as symbols of devotion. It’s one of those rare places where flavor meets faith, and the result is pure joy.

Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular traveler to Vrindavan, Brijwasi offers the comforting taste of home, heritage, and heartfelt devotion – all...

The food quality and taste is amazing and out of this world. But some points I have to tell about their service and atmosphere so that the authority should take action. In the attached picture it is clear that 2 persons are attending 10-15 customers at one time, which is not practical . There was too much hotchpotch. I asked the employee to call his colleagues but he said that only they two were always attending the same crowd. Not more than 2 persons can stand and serve the orders at the counter . That logic is indigestible. It took more than 10 minutes to get my order even after my order number was displayed on screen. That too, I requested other customers standing there, that I was in a hurry. The air conditioners pipe ducting was over the tables and the moisture that keep on collecting there was continuously dropping down in the food. This was the case in almost 80,% of tables. The cooling of the air conditioners was too much . The crowd was shivering with the cold. Some people told the authority to adjust the cooling , but they said they have no control over cooling. They can only either on or off the air conditioners. They cannot set the required cooling temperature. This is shocking for such a branded restaurant The date was 28-08-24 Time was...

I had tandoor aalo paratha here which was full of butter, less stuffed, sour curd, mixed pickle Which I don't like so asked for green chutney. Environment is good only. Everyone was recommending it so went for it but I didn't like it. I went to buy some sweets as well from their sweet shop but I didn't like it, peda was full of crushed sugar coated. So it's over hyped place. Try local food stalls.

This is their first floor which was empty but ground floor is full of people. I went to the washroom which was too dirty, there were 2 more people standing there. I went down and told the order taker, he was like tell that person who's there he'll do it but there was no one. I don't know why these people behave like this. There were few waiters I told them the same so after 30 mins it was cleaned. He said it's cleaned now.

I visited 2nd time here for pav bhaji but there was nothing but butter even I told them before that please don't add much butter still they did. Idk what's going on with food...

I have been visiting Vrindavan since my childhood and I have been visiting Brijvasi from the time when it was just a shop serving Peda. Talking about the service of Brijvasi restaurant, it is a very clean and crowded restaurant. The service area is congested, hence one has to face a lot of hassle even during self-service. Talking about the price, it costs a lot more than other restaurants. Even if you take a thali, the thali costs arround Rs. 300. However, it has different items. You will get tired of eating and the thali will still slip from your hands because whether you like every item in it or not depends on you. If you don't know budget, then you can surely consider this.

Pathetic experience. We ordered roti with butter, dal and mix veg. These overpriced items were nothing like the hype. The roti was so dry like papad. The dal and mix veg lacked taste. It was so bland. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. They have opened the new restaurant just in front of their sweet shop. None of the family members were able to finish their roti despite being soo hungry. Worst experience. Eww food. The only thing good was cucumber lol. Rest all tasted yuck. Save yourself. Dont go here. And they arent even open to feedback.

It's all hype, sadly. Nothing we tried was good and it was so shocking after all the hype. We tried their samosa (came with zero chutney lol), bhalla papdi chaat, papdi chaat, chole bhature, rabdi, peda & bhel Puri. The bhalla papdi chaat had no papdi and the papdi chaat was also papdi less and they'd given us a bhalla instead. The peda was good, rabdi was good, the bhel Puri was also okay, the pav bhaji was outright disgusting, we actually had to throw it away and we hate wasting food but it was inedible. Chole bhature was average. Sad.

One of the famous local eateries in Vrindavan. Ped here is a delicacy. Easily navigable. Parking is scarce, paid parking available. Food is self service and ala carte. A variety of sweet available to buy and cherish. Specially pede and milk sweets. The seating space is on the first floor, washroom on the second floor, no lift available. Food menu for breakfast and lunch is limited. The Place is clean with quick service. It's a value for money outlet. Overall, this place is better than others restaurant and I would recommend it.
