BeerBox — Restaurant in Sofia City

Outstanding restaurant and probably (as of writing this review) the only one allowing you to cook the food yourself on the integrated barbecue in the table. Even though not every item on the menu is for it and if you don't want to trouble yourself with the hassle of cooking there are excellent items on the menu you will like just as much!

On the plus side this restaurant brings a new concept to the Bulgarian restaurant scene, it has great food choices and outstanding beer selection, ranging from Czech to German to Russian or in other words, beer from all around the globe! Parking is available on-site and is free for the visitors of the restaurant. Also I would like to add that this is a great place if you're planning to come with a group of friends.

Jumping directly into the only VERY nitpicky con I would like to say that if you want to cook yourself tables are limited and reservations are a must!

All in all this restaurant is a something new with rich choice of beer and very friendly towards group...

Not sure how to rate this one, to be honest.

The design is industrial-ish, with big glass windows and metal-wood chairs. The food selection is mediocre, and its quality is of the "frozen" kind.

On the other hand, true to its name, the place has a HUGE selection of boutique (and not-so-boutique) beers on offer (they take up 80% of the menu), with 5 beers on tap that are not so common in Bulgaria.

So if you're looking for a good selection of beers, some basic "beer food" to go along with it, and a nice environment to enjoy those in, this place is for you.

(There are hot plates at the center of the tables, where people are supposed to cook their own food, but looking at the menu we didn't really see anything that could be "grilled", so who knows... maybe it's a future thing. For now, it's...

MORE than two hours before the closing time, we were told we cannot use the grill, because the waiter said it was already too late and she had to “prepare” it or whatever. Awful service. Had to wait for the waiter to remember that she had clients, because for like 15-20 mins she didn’t bother to come and get our order, she would rather sit and gossip with the other two women that appeared to be her colleagues. On top of this, on the next day I woke up with stomach aches and not only. So if you want to be unpleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, you’re welcome. But I will not bother ever again go to this place that looks trash from the outside - maybe in this case, you can actually judge a book...
