Let me start by pointing a few positives - the food is great, the owner - lovely person. I used to enjoy going there. That is - until today. My wife and I were served (or rather not served) by a rather rude and racist waiter. A bit of back story - my wife is Chinese. When the waiter in question came to pick our order I started listing the dishes by number, as I didn't want to make a mistake. At this point the waiter made the following remark: "You can read the Korean names, we are not a Chinese restaurant! The dishes have names!". I was shocked by the attitude but decided not to react as I didn't want to ruin the evening. Instead I continued listing my order the same way I was listing it before. During this the waiter's attitude was getting worse. Finally he started raising his voice at us and asked if I have any problem with him. To this I responded that I do have a problem with his racist remark, especially considering that my wife is Chinese. To this he had the nerve to reply with "Yes, I saw."! Of course, I cancelled the order and decided to leave. On my way out I seaked the manager only to find out it's him. Sadly, I plan to never visit this...
Read moreI have enjoyed Korean food previously, both in the Middle East and in Asia, and I know how absolutely transcendental the experience could be. This restaurant has overwhelmingly positive google reviews, which we found misleading. I don't know whether we hit a bad day for the cook or what, but here is our experience. The chicken dish was reminiscent to a typical Bulgarian onion and leeks paprika chicken stew with some ginger and sesame seeds thrown in for "authenticity"; it was supposed to be super hot (3 chillies!) and was less spicy than even KFC wings. For this totally unremarkable dish we paid 27 leva! The dumplings were too chewy on the outside and very bland on the inside. The kimchi pancake was crispy and nice as far as texture is concerned, but very sour and lacking salt. The vegetarian noodle dish was cold (not specified in the menu) and the sweet sauce bore resemblance to ketchup. The appetizers were OK but nothing to write home about. In a nutshell: ridiculously overpriced, mediocre, uninspired food. I give it 3 stars because of the quiet, green location and the waitress, who despite serving all tables alone was...
Read moreUnfortunately, our experience here was disappointing. We actually came after finding this place online and seeing the high ratings, but honestly, we don’t understand how it has such a good score. The staff seemed uninterested and misunderstood our order, which caused delays. We were seated inside, but it was extremely noisy and gave us a headache, so we asked to move outside. They said if it rained, we couldn’t return to our table inside — even though the weather was perfectly fine and there was no sign of rain. Once outside, they didn’t bring basic things like napkins or salt. Service was very poor. We also think that for dishes which are unfamiliar to tourists, the staff should give at least a little explanation. We often try different cuisines as a group of friends, and in most places we’ve visited, they offer some helpful information before ordering — unfortunately, there was no such courtesy here. The food itself was a mix of sweet and salty flavors, average in taste, with portions that felt small for the price. Overall, not worth it in terms of...
