Ooo man, where do I start. When I first walked in some of the staff were sleep. 😆 I was like "she tired ain't she?" Service is nothing special at all. The owners wife is sweet enough. They play YouTube on a massive projector that makes this place feel like a overly sized karaoke bar.
I guess the owner is korean but somehow has a friend from Texas that taught him bbq? Lol it seems as if he cut a few corners though as they didn't seem to offer anything less then 700g at $9.90 per 100g. Seemed a bit like a money grab to me as the short rib I had definitely was not fresh, tasted reheated. I mean it came pre-cut off the bone already and was just dry, which to me is a dead giveaway the foods reheated.
The mac and cheese🤦 the wife suggested that was "delicious" was a cheesy mess. I mean I took one bite and didn't eat any of it. It was like they just threw an exorbitant amount of cheese in it that just wasn't necessary. Also reheated.
They don't seem to make much of anything fresh here except the grilled zucchini I ordered because for a BBQ restaurant the only side that seemed to resemble a side that would go with American BBQ was the Mac and cheese? I'm still waiting for that, I've finished my meal btw. It's been 25 mins now for some grilled zucchini.
Overall it just seems like a restaurant that is confused if it wants to be korean or BBQ. The water they give you is what you would generally receive in a korean BBQ place, it even says "Kloud" on it.
If your missing a taste of home and BBQ is what your craving, do yourself a favor and your pockets and...
Read moreLet me start by saying that the meet is really good. The menu is confusing, And we all felt that the portions were very small and very inconsistent. A four-person plate comes with plenty Of coleslaw, 4 rolls and hardly any fries. Meat has to be purchased separately. The ribs were delicious, however, there was hardly any meat on the bone at all. I don't expect to go to a restaurant and spend the kind of money we spent and come home hungry. I suppose if you have a huge budget you can get many many ribs and then you would be full. The chicken also seemed to lack substance. The restaurant was big and clean and obviously set up for a large crowd. My overall impression was that the food was really delicious, enormous TV but not overly loud or obnoxious. But that I probably wouldn't go back because of the prices and lack of meat...
Read moreMy friend and I came in for lunch. He ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich, I got the pulled pork sandwich. It's a shame that they are so close to doing it well, but as it is it's absolutely mediocre at best.
The barbecue sauce is served cold (as in frigid), which made me not even want to put it on my sandwich. The bread for the sandwiches isn't toasted, which is such an easy step to do right.
We ordered grilled mushrooms, grilled pineapple, and macaroni and cheese. The grilled mushrooms came out early (and tasted nice, well seasoned), which was good, but the grilled pineapple and the macaroni and cheese didn't come out until after we had both finished our sandwiches and asked for the bill.
So close, yet...
