I am not one to leave reviews, but I thought I would leave one for this restaurant because it is one of my favorites. Thought I would take my wife out for a very nice birthday dinner. When I called to make a reservation, no one answered the phone so I left a message to have them call me back. I did not receive a call back. No big deal, turns out reservations really were not required. We were met at the door and seated promptly, given menus and drink order taken etc. The time from our food order to when the order arrived was a bit long, but we were not in a rush. No big deal, just have another drink. The beer cooler was not working so draft beer was not available. The bottle beer was very cold though. Wine selection very limited. The food is 5 star all the way. There are a few things that I would like to point out that could stand for improvement. The atmosphere and the service do not match the quality of the food. There are just a few simple things that can be done to make this a 5 star dining experience and not just another pub/restaurant Beer should be served with a glass, not just the bottle Rice in the salt shaker is just plain tacky Get rid of the Dollar store utensils wrapped in a napkin. what ever happened to having nice place setting on the table? Wine service... Again the food is 5 star, why not the wine service? Return phone calls please This was my wife's birthday and I wanted to do something special, but no one returned my call. Fresh bread or something brought to the table with our drinks would be nice while we wait. Not once was dessert offered, again, my wife's birthday... Training of the servers. Servers are young and inexperienced. It would be a big help if they would bring in someone with fine dining service experience to help train. These are just a few suggestions critiques, and by no means is a slam on your restaurant. We will continue to be patrons and are hoping this great restaurant will just step...
Read moreJuly 28, 2024 my brother and I had dinner at PV based on a recommendation from the Motel we stayed at (Days Inn). It was a very short walk from the motel, less than two minutes, we were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was very nice and offered menu suggestions, along with a special. We both had the same meal, the Argentinian burger, that came with pork bellies. The burger was presented very nicely on wooden board. It was an outstanding burger! For desert I had the chocolate lava cake, which was prepared fresh, making it worth the very short wait. My brother had the s'mores cheesecake which he equally enjoyed. In my opinion the food quality rivals anything available for me here in Victoria on the Island, if the restaurant were local to me, it would be on my favourite list to visit regularly. We agreed, that a stop in 100 Mile for dinner is well worth it based on the quality of food presented at...
Read moreWaited to be seated, just 2 staff on duty. Very slow to take order. All draught German beer unavailable because beer fridge broken for a month. Alternatives were not equivalent. The owner could at least have gone to the liquor store to get some bottled German beer. Ordered diet coke instead - watered down and totally flat. Meals are overpriced. $50+ dollars for a steak in 100 Mile House is not realistic Overheard young server talking with another table, who when asked what rahmsaus was, said 'oh it's just some kind of sauce' and didn't even offer to educate herself by checking with the chef and informing her customer. She also probably needs to learn that you do not pronounce the last T in merlot. Elected not to wait for food given this evidence of clear disinterest by the staff and management of giving customers a good experience. The Red Rock down the road is far more welcoming with efficient and...
