Amiro's Steak House — Restaurant in Alberta

This was the worst restaurant experience of my life, and could’ve easily been made better had the server not been such an unfriendly and unprofessional person. I used to travel a lot for work and eat out at restaurants a lot with clients and I have never experienced “service” or a lack thereof like I did at this place.

My friend and I walked in just before noon on Friday, August 18th. There was no sign to direct us as to whether we waited to be seated or not, so we did. At the time there was 2-3 empty tables in the place but they were all covered in previous guests dishes. We stood there for awhile until finally, said server approached us, not with a “hello” or anything, but rather to bark “you’re gonna have to wait while I clean a table” at us. We were a little taken aback by her lack of customer service but were like okay.

She finally finished cleaning a table and so we go to sit down, she doesn’t follow us to help us so I grabbed a couple menus on the way seeing as she clearly didn’t really want to serve us in any way.

We get to our table, quickly decide to both order Eggs Benedict, my friends with medium poached eggs, and grab two glasses of water and an orange juice. We sat there waiting for her to come take our order for awhile, and when she finally did, she didn’t even say a word to us, just walked up to the table with a notepad looking at us impatiently.

So we ordered our Eggs. And then we sat. For FORTY FIVE minutes. And watched multiple tables who arrived well after us get served first. We waited and we waited and finally, the server walked past our table so I asked her, “excuse me, is our food going to come out soon?”, to which she barked something at me about the kitchen being busy and walked away.

We were about 5 minutes from walking out without getting our food when our food actually finally showed up. It was okay, I barely got any hash browns on my plate and my friends eggs certainly were not poached medium.

And our frustrations could’ve been easily avoided had the server just PROVIDED CUSTOMER SERVICE rather than being so unbelievably rude. It would’ve went a long way in that 45 minutes to approach our table and just say, “hey, sorry, our kitchen is a bit behind right now, can I grab you a coffee on the house while you wait”, or SOMETHING. We didn’t even get asked if we wanted a second beverage let alone told why our food was taking so long.

This server flat out made us feel like it was OUR fault for wanting the food we ordered in a somewhat timely fashion. She made us feel like a burden and an inconvenience. And my friend and I try very hard to be kind and polite to service staff but holy heck she was a miserable human being.

Seems to me that you need to find a new server. We didn’t even tip and I can honestly and wholeheartedly say I have NEVER not tipped a server in my entire life.

I wish I could give this place no stars after this...

Beyond disappointing! Doesn't even deserve one star. We drove over an hour and came in for a family dinner with our three daughters, it was 4:40pm when we got there, the restaurant was quiet with only one other table being served. The waitress greeted us and told us there was no chicken gravy but there was still beef gravy which wasn't a problem. We were served our drinks and placed our order for a beef stir fry with noodles, junior spaghetti, junior chicken fingers and fries, veal cutlets with clam chowder to start and a cajun chicken Caesar salad with mozzarella sticks and deep fried pickles. After about 5 minutes the waitress returned to tell us that they did not have any stir fry (chicken or beef) and no deep fried pickles. We replaced the stir fry with another junior spaghetti. We received our clam chowder and mozza sticks after 20 minutes of waiting. At 5:20 we were still waiting for our food to arrive, each time the waitress passed by she would whisper "its coming," another 10 minutes later our waitress returned with the Caesar salad. She returned to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later empty handed stating that they had no spaghetti. We had waited for almost an hour to be told that they had cooked the rest of our order but had no spaghetti to fill our daughters order. Almost everything we ordered they couldn't fulfill, we will definitely not be going back. We strive to promote our local businesses but when you go into a restaurant that puts no effort into their service, their food, their menu, anything, even if you leave starving there is still a bitter taste in your mouth leaving you craving true Canadian pride and passion in what we give back to our fellow people and...

We tried to go for lunch during my wife’s lunch break, we ordered a clubhouse, spaghetti and some chicken Alfredo. We were waiting almost 40 minutes until we decided we can’t wait any longer, asked for our food to go. We waited another 10 minutes for the food to come, my wife’s clubhouse was cold, and they food was very meh. We watch 3 tables of people sit down, receive there food and finish it before we had even gotten our food. It was our first time going there as we are from out of town, and we will not going back, nor recommending this place to anyone. We did not get an apology or explanation as to why it...
