Our last two experiences at the Boston Pizza in Peace River were extremely disappointing. This is the second time we've felt the staff was negligent, forgetful and unapologetic. A few weeks ago, we went to this restaurant and ordered a vegan pizza. When our order arrived, there was dairy cheese on the pizza. The waitress replaced our order relatively quickly, which we appreciated. However, the lack of attention to detail on the part of the cooking staff is appalling, as a similar mistake happened to us in the past. Today, we went to the restaurant once again and very clearly ordered a vegan plant based burger (which contains guacamole instead of mayonnaise). Before the food arrived, the waitress asked if we would require utensils, to which we said yes. When the order arrived, we instantly noticed mayonnaise on the burger. We asked the waitress if these were in fact the vegan burgers because they evidently had mayonnaise on them. The waitress confidently said that they were vegan, completely ignoring our concern. We followed up by asking if the mayonnaise was vegan. She turned away without a word, which, seemingly, was her way of showing us she would inquire about our question. She returned by saying the cooking staff had made a mistake and that they would replace our order. It took them a very long time to replace it. These arrived without the sides that we had originally ordered and we were asked if we still wanted them. We had not touched the first plates, the price of the sides were included in our order, so why would they think we did not want our sides? An apology from the waitress or on behalf of the cooking staff was not uttered even once. They treated our concerns with disdain, as though our dietary requirements were a hassle. And to make matters worse, she had forgotten to bring the utensils which she had previously said she would bring. We were not finished eating off of our plates before the waitress asked if we wanted the bill. We felt rushed out.
Everybody makes mistakes, but the fact that this is not the first time the staff demonstrated feelings of disrespect and did not take accountability for their actions is what made this experience extremely uncomfortable. Including plant-based alternatives on the menu is commendable, but the staff's ineptitude to fulfill our request or unwillingness to apologize for their mistake made us feel like an impediment in the operations of the restaurant. Needless to say, we will not be returning to the Boston Pizza in Peace River.
On another and completely unrelated note, the coffee is revolting and how dare they charge $4.29 for a small cup of...
Read moreOrdered Thai Bites, and a 13" Bandera Bread with extra Santa Fe sides for pickup and even tipped just to be nice and once I got back to work to eat I had to throw out 70$ worth of food because it was inedible because of how hot the Santa Fe sauce was as well as the Thai bites. I've eaten this same thing more times than I can count at other Boston Pizzas and also having worked there. This is the second time I've had this same thing at the same Boston Pizza. Thought the first time was a one off and tried getting it again so I guess the second time is my fault for having gone back. As I work over an hour out of peace river and don't have time to eat in I won't be taking out anymore or telling any of the guys on the crew to even bother unless they can eat it there and make sure before spending...
Read moreTook our 10 month old in the day before to the one in Whitecourt on our way through and we're immediately given a "baby plate" with mashed potatoes, gravy and some chopped up ham at no cost it was a great idea we thought. So we made it a plan to go to the one in Peace River as it wasn't hard to find or too far out of the way and our little one needed some lunch. Upon getting seated we asked about the same offering and they'd not heard of it but we asked to get one any way. The plate was just a scoup of potato and some chopped up ham and it ended up on the bill for close to 8 dollars so we were a little dissapointed. The rest of the food was good and the...
