My friends and I have been going the baron there for many many years. Also too the Burger barons in Edmonton. their burgers were excellent and every year I come back to Edmonton for a visit my friends and family go for a mushroom burger. I continued going there over the years and they've always been good I was in Calmar one week ago and the burger was terrible I don't know where they got the meat from or why they even changed it, it was the worst mushroom burger I've ever eaten they used to make the best mushroom burgers in the region. Sorry to say unless I hear any different and they change the meat and the mushroom sauce back to the original sauce I won't be back. Very disappointed the meat was orange looking don't know what it was. Maybe this review will help them to change back to where they were sorry Burger Baron you've lost the faithful lifetime customer I'll be waiting to hear from my friends and family from Edmonton to see if there are any changes. Hopefully the burger Barons in Edmonton will all stay with the original...
Read more5 stars. One of Alberta's hidden fast food gems. I have been coming here for quite awhile and have never been disappointed. The foods always amazing! Fresh and hot. The green gravy is just plain awesome and has a nice kick to it ( assuming family recipe passed down through the generations ). Some like it, and some dont. But its definately worthy of trying. My go to is a double mushroom burger and I will pour some of that green gravy goodness on it to make it that much better if there is such a thing. The cheese has a nice, cooked, but not overdone texture to it and always ask for mozza cheese on the mushroom burger! Their chicken is also amazing but just give them a heads up with an order of it. The milkshakes are great and they will let you mix flavors. They are family run and are always friendly and great to deal with. I'd rather eat here than alot of other places. It's worth a trip to Calmar just for this place! I didnt grab pictures from todays visit, but next time...
Read moreWhen you're hungover from a night of partying at your best friend's acreage, this is where you go. Heading back to the city from the lake? Make the detour through Calmar. It's good rural Alberta "fast food". The menu has a surprisingly large selection, I recommend the tater tots and deep fried pickles. Is it a lil greasy? Yup, but what did you expect? It's not health, it's tasty. A little pricey for how much you get when it comes to the sides, but hey they got bills to pay, and I'd rather give my money to a small town business before dirty dons any day. The food is definitely good. If you're not sure, just come try it - you'll stop in for a easy yummy meal & be...
