New Shanghai Restaurant — Restaurant in Alberta

I completely understand prices going up due to economic changes BUT increasing prices AND significantly decreasing portions at the same time isn’t right in my opinion. This used to be my favourite place for Chinese food. So much so I drove from Leduc to Calmar to get it, however after seeing today how much the portion sizes have been decreased alongside the price increase when combined with the decline of the quality of the food also it seems I’m going to have to find someplace new. The chicken in my order today was so tough I could barely bite through it. The chao mein was completely lacking flavour as was the rice and the spring rolls weren’t any different. Definitely not the quality of food I’ve always received in the past and loved so much. Even the plum sauce was super watery today which I’ve never seen before. Completely disappointed in my entire order ☹️

As an added side note I would like to mention that this is the first Chinese food place I’ve ever encountered in my life that does not give fortune cookies with their takeout orders. Just find it kinda odd as I have never experienced...

July 23/23 We stopped at our favourite Chinese food and had the Wor Wonton. Amazing! Delicious loaded with shrimp chicken, pork, veggies and tasty Wontons. This may be our new favourite. Thanks June and Wayne you are as wonderful as the food that you cook at your restaurant.

Wow @coryfraser from the looks of your Google reviews you are a whiner. These are super good people who own this restaurant- June and Wayne. Did it not occur to you to actually deal with them instead of spouting your face off on Google? I’m sure you are perfect from your review, which IMO is bogus! Businesses have it hard enough without your unfounded comments. Their Ginger Beef is fantastic. I ate at This New Shanghai Restaurant last night Mar 30 -24. It was great 👍 I only had takeout egg rolls and chicken fried rice. 😋 The egg Rolls were great but prefer the wrapped type. They were filling and Chicken fried rice was of very generous portion and delicious . I will be back to try other Menu items soon 😋. I have wanted to go there for a long time and glad I did. 😊 It was a clean and pleasant place while i waited a very short time to take the food out. The lady was very friendly and kind; asked me if I wanted to dine in . As far as the reviews that are bad about this place or the food; they are bogus.
