DO NOT hire for your wedding, especially if it's at Willow Lane Barn!! If I could give zero stars, I would. We were in contact with Candice to have her make a very small two tier cake for our wedding last September. Arranged an appointment with her months in advance to come in for a tasting. She no showed our appointment and her staff had no idea what we were talking about and had to phone her to find out. We then were told to go ahead and "try" some cupcakes to decide which flavour we would like for our cake. Had to pay full price for the cupcakes we tried. Even though this was very disappointing, we still tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and support local. We proceeded with placing the order and paying in full for our wedding cake and delivery to The Barn. It was almost impossible to get ahold of Candice via phone or email, but when she did finally respond (to an email stating the venue and the date in the subject line), she confirmed a week and a half before our wedding that our full payment was received and "We are all set for Sept 9th". An hour before we were to begin our reception, I noticed the cake was not where it was supposed to be. Thankfully our venue was amazing and managed to get in contact with Candice, who later emailed me and stated she got the "weekends mixed up". To say she failed us is an absolute understatement. I hope no one else makes the mistake of trying to support Candice, who is clearly not suited for running a business.

Great place to sit and have a cup of coffee and a treat. I go to get work done or meet with clients there. Love the atmosphere at the new location. There are a couple private nooks that are great to relax and read a book in and a kids area so Mom can relax for a few minutes and just enjoy her latte while it is hot (speaking from experience). There are treats that appeal to kids too like cake pops. And their brownies are the best you will find in town! Oh and cheesecake in a cup! That is definitely my new favorite. And they are gluten free for those of you who do that. Just delicious for those of you who don’t.

I ordered flower cupcakes for Mothers day and theyre so pretty and yummy! And just a couple of days ago I ordered a tuxedo cake for my partner who's a first time dad and Candice told me they take a week in advance for the orders but she made an exception and made the cake for me. Very professional and very considerate! I was having a hard time looking for a special cake for my partner and she really went above and beyond to help me out. Cake was really yummy and my partner loved it! Thanks Candice!! We will definitely come back for more! -Charm

Cocoa Tree is a rare find in a small rural community. It has the pleasant feel of a small intimate tea house from a bygone era. It is tucked away on a side street, there some small eating areas where conversation over Fair Trade tea or coffee is encouraged and quiet is the norm.

Their desserts are what I initially came for - they are AMAZING. Their reputation is for their famous cupcakes but the rest of their sweet treats are painful to decide upon - there are so many fabulous choices! We are Gluten intolerant so often have a hard time find sweet treats. Not at Cocoa Tree - they always have two or three GF items in stock that we savor and sometimes take home. Fridays is always GF Cupcake day - but only on Fridays (and they often sell out early!) Candice and her staff are always friendly and warm. It is a treat to have such a great small business that caters to sweet treats and quiet...

A little expensive if you ask me... I heard and read all the hype about this shoppe.. but if you ask me , when you go in to a bake shoppe, you'd expect to see displays of baking, cookies cupcakes , breads, cakes etc etc etc . I don't know about you, but a single display of cake pops and a few cupcakes of so called specialty flavors. At exorbitantly high prices j might add. Sure you can sit and coffee with a friend or two. But at 5.50 for a coffee. 6.00 a cupcake, 4.50 a cookie... I wouldn't call you a bake shoppe, I'd call you a coffee shoppe... We were so looking forward to having a decent cake or slice assortment to bring home . That we ended up leaving with a highly over priced 6 pack of shortbread cookies for 16.00. This is not what Olds needs, Olds needs a...
