Hong Kong Restaurant — Restaurant in Alberta

I'm not trying to bash the business but I can't candy-coat it either. First, the server wasn't very fluent in English at all. She's Chinese in a Chinese restaurant, so I won't hold that against her. The ice water was room temp, the egg roll had virtually nothing in it and the batter wasn't cooked all the way through. They should either change suppliers or change recipes for that one. The main course was just terrible. It was cashew chicken, broccoli beef, ginger beef and chicken fried rice. There was a lot of things wrong with it and I'll just leave it at that. When I went to pay for the meal, the server asked how the meal was, and when I said, "Not that good", she said Thank you, so obviously she didn't understand me. The final kicker is that the credit card payment forced me to leave a tip, which I didn't want to. I've never seen that before in my life. First timer coming here. We came right when they opened. Coffee wasn't made yet but it wasn't long before it was ready. I drink my coffee black but today I needed half and cream and half a sugar pack per cup. Within a few minutes there was about 5 or 6 tables with groups so that was a good sign. I ordered the special, ginger chicken, beef broccoli, fried rice and wonton soup. Each had good flavour. The ginger chicken was a bit on the sweet side so it paired nicely with the beef broccoli and rice. I prefer things a bit spicier but it did have enjoyable zest. The wonton soup had good flavour, the broth was a little oily, though I've noticed this with a few places with wonton soup now. Everything came served piping hot and fresh. Dropped back for a Third time and what experience we had. The Food once again was great and the level of service from the staff was top notch. Especially Ivy she was very good at looking after us while we enjoyed our meal. My wife and I stopped back for a second time to get some supper. My wife enjoyed the buffet and myself I ordered a couple items off the menu. The service is very good here nice and friendly and approachable. I've been to a lot of Chinese food restaurants in Alberta and haven't had much luck finding an actual egg roll like the ones from the East coast. Well look no further I've finally found some...
