Waited 10 minutes, tried to order taco in a bag, and was told I couldn’t because they were out of chips. I said it was fine, I could get my own, but requested a discount for having to buy my own chips. I was told no, “it’s not the cost of the chips, but everything else”. Whatever. I paid full price and spent the $7 to buy my chips. I asked for the other ingredients to go, and instead of putting the lettuce in a separate container, they put it all together, and I got home to soggy, stringy lettuce, and pools of liquid at the bottom. I waited an additional 30 minutes for this. I just wanted taco in a bag, I waited a total of 40 minutes, paid full price for 2/3 of a product, got gross soggy lettuce, swimming in red liquid, and not even an attempt to make up for it. $40 for mush, $7 extra for my own chops. Cool. Wouldn’t recommend. Zero customer service skills, clearly no knowledge of produce as simple as lettuce, and no customer...
Read moreWe had the tacos and boiled perogys with ham for our lunch with a wildberry milkshake. Staff was friendly and helpful, they even brought our order to the table when it was ready. The tacos were good with fresh tomato slices and lettuce, the pico that came with was a lovely consistent diced size that worked well on the tacos. The shells appeared to be fresh as they were not normal store bought shells. The perogys were a pleasant surprise. They were massive with what I'm guessing was a cheese filling of some kind. Thank goodness there were only four in an order, due to their size, I would not have finished them if there had been any more. The other neat thing is that they were served with a white gravy to put on them and they were even more delicious with the gravy. No photos as we forgot until we had...
Read moreThe torta was incredibly amazing. It is a good portion of food, especially if the fries are included. One torta feeds a person nicely. The meat is cooked the perfect amount, and the veggies are fresh and delicious. The bread is soft and not at all stale, and that is an easy problem that restaurants have that Rancho Viejo does not. Very great meal. The tacos were scrumptious. There was much wrong with them at all; they were freshly made but were slightly less warm when they came out. Being the closest thing to an authentic mexican/mennonite restaurant around here, we have high expectations for this location, which are all met...except for the small amount of pineapple on the al pastor tacos. There definitely could have been more, like they do it in mexico. But still, the food was great. We would...
