I had the most awful experience that I’ve never had in my whole life. I went to Subway at around 8:22 PM, as I saw they were supposed to close at 9 PM. I wanted to grab some food before starting my 12-hour night shift.
As I parked my car and approached the front door, I noticed two workers inside the store : one was a white male with a heavy build, and the other was a slim-built Asian or Native male with a chin beard and AirPods in his ears. I tried to open the door, but it was locked. I checked the sign on the door to confirm the closing time, as Google’s timing can sometimes be different. I knocked and used my flashlight to get their attention. The Asian worker had AirPods in his ears, so I thought he might not hear me. However, the white male saw me and I waved my hand. He waved back but ignored me. I tried knocking and saying hello, but I was completely ignored, even though they had noticed me at the front door. It was shocking, as I felt I was racially profiled by them just because I’m a person of color.
The next morning, at around 9 AM, I returned and saw another white male working. I asked to speak to the manager to confirm the closing time. He told me he was the supervisor and wasn’t happy with the way I was treated and wanted to help me out. He asked me around what time it occurred and said he would address it with the workers. From his tone, it seemed like he was already displeased with their behavior. The supervisor helped me a lot and assured me action will be taken. If you’re a person of color, you may want to exercise caution if you consider going back there.
Thank you.
PS- The open sign was turned off yesterday but today when I passed through subway at same time, the open signs were turned on and...
Read moreThis play is alright. They are good with upselling. But watching them put your sandwich together makes me want to go home and do it myself. When they were cutting the bread... they squashed it. Then the when putting the meat on... it was messy and falling out. They over did it on the sauce. I asked for mustard and they put wayyyyy to much on. I swear it was drowning in it. I couldnt eat it because of the mustard. Like I would have asked for a new one, but I didnt want to go through that...
Read moreBasically your run of the mill subway. I usually go in once every two weeks for a breakfast and lunch sandwich. Out of every 4 visits I get 3 very happy service experiences but they do have one employee in the morning that doesn't seem to belong in the service industry. Would be 5 star of it...
