This used to be my favourite place to stop and grab a bite to eat when travelling to and from Fort McMurray, it's been many many years since I've had a good meal here.
The burger patties used to be fresh beef patties hand made everyday. They are tiny skinny little frozen ones now. The deep fried food all tastes a little off .. maybe just not changing out the oil often enough or frying meats separately from the fries and other non protein fried goods. I wish they would go back to how it used to be.
My cousins forgot to ask for dipping sauce for their food, so I asked the cashier man at the front for 4 sauce packets. I wanted 2 honey mustard and 2 BBQ dipping sauces. He handed me the first two and I asked politely if I could please get the other two sauces and he just gave me a dirty look and said something to his wife in a language I could not understand. Then proceeded to hand me the wrong dipping sauces and said it would be $1.50 for the extra dipping sauces. They could have been friendlier maybe given a bit of a smile. I had no issues paying for the extra sauces, it was just the way he spoke to me and looked at me when I was asking for the sauces that made me feel like I was being more of an annoyance than a valued paying customer.
I will probably not dine here again, not in the near future anyways. I just wish they would go back to how it used to be in...
Read moreDon’t eat here! My boyfriend ordered food for the both of us. He got me a chicken wrap and I bit into chunks of completely raw chicken. When he tried to get a refund, the man behind the counter was extremely rude saying no way he served raw chicken yet the pink gooey chicken was sticking out of the wrap. When my boyfriend tried to show him the raw chicken, the man behind the counter snatched the wrap out of his hand and kept insisting it was cooked. They said they had boiled the chicken for 2 hours and cooked it again after - no way that was the case. They then told my boyfriend he was ungrateful and to get out of the restaurant and to never come back. The guy also told my boyfriend that if “your girlfriend gets sick, the hospital is right there”. There was another couple in the restaurant complaining about the milk in their milkshake had curdled. Absolutely disgusting food and disgusting behaviour by this...
Read moreI used to come here over 10 years ago when I drove back and forth to fort mcmurray for work. It was always the highlight of my drive and the most delicious.
I was just driving through recently and my brother had told me that last time he went through they were closed down and I was incredibly disappointed as I had been fasting all day in preparation for this baby!
However, to my delight as I drove into grasslands I saw that they were open! But there was a big sign that stated it was open under new ownership. I went in with extreme caution and skepticism and ordered a double cheeseburger and fries.
I don't know how they did it, but it's even better than it was before! The burger had a perfect crunch to it and the fries were delicious and crispy.
You must try this place if you're driving through, it's never disappointed regardless of which...
