I went in the mid/early evening to enjoy their karaoke and an appetizer and a beer. I’m not much of a drinker, but I love singing. I had 1 beer, and ate my food with my friends and was having a great time. I went out for a smoke and when I came back an older man claimed I had to be kicked out. It came out of nowhere, for no reason, nothing happened. I think it may have been the owner. I asked why I was being kicked out and he said I was intoxicated and falling over the place? Except I wasn’t intoxicated at all, and I didn’t stumble or fall. He just have seen someone else do that. When I tried to talk to him about it and explain that there must be some sort of misunderstanding, he was really mean to me and just wouldn’t have any kind of conversation. He treated me like I was a waste of his time. I was so upset that I was almost in tears. I felt like he targeted me and was being malicious for some unknown reason. That has never happened to me at any other establishment in my entire life and I won’t ever be going back. They didn’t value me as a customer whatsoever. I was just a waste of their time. I collected my friends and we went to a different place in town and we didn’t have any issues for the rest of the night. I highly suggest if your wanting to go out with friends, don’t go to this place if you don’t want your night to be...
Read moreUpon my first venture into this place, I didn't have any expectations other than a place to have a beer and just get out of the house. (I'm new to amherst). I was super pleased to find the atmosphere one of those places you want to walk I and know everyone. Old super cool grandpa's playing pool and having a beer while grandma plays her VLTS. With that, people my age (it's rude to ask) are there as well. It's low key, home town feel to it. Owner and bartenders earned a spot in my heart with their openess and genuine pleasant personalities. Very welcoming. Feeling out of place and shy, they made me feel right at home.
Went there another time for lunch and their food was sooooooooooo good. OK so I mainly had the BLT, fried pickles, chicken fingers, salad, and barley soup with home made biscuit, so I had my favorites. But they were all fantastic. Not so much the soup, but it's because I'm a soup snob and it's not the way my dad makes it lol. So it's not bad by any means, just not what I wanted lol
I can say that's definitely been my go to spot whether I feel too good about myself and want to be destroyed in a game of pool, or just somewhere to hear background noise while I read a book on a comfy red leather couch.
You need to try this place out, any time of day. This is an...
Read moreWas recently in Moncton and was heading home to New Glasgow when I got lost . When I got back on track I was very hungry and stopped in Amherst. Not knowing anything I put food in my maps and it took me here. I was tired wet and hungry. The waitress Britt was so calming and kind. Made me feel relaxed and happy. I ordered chicken strips and fries and most importantly coffee. All were delicious. Then to top it off she said the sticky toffee desert was a favourite of hers. And is now a favourite of mine. I am so glad I found this place especially on a Sunday evening. June 2025 Again was at Moncton for convention but this time I wasn’t lost and told them I wanted to eat here again. The folks I was with said okay and they weren’t disappointed. From scallop to hamburger to hot sandwich to quesadilla. A1 all of it. Waitress was so great with us....
