Wenjie Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Area B (Lazo North)

I don't understand how this restaraunt gets the reviews it does. This was my second attempt and the most recent meal somehow beat out my last attempt which was the worst chinese food I've ever had. They have a great website but nothing you order is going to resemble the pictures. Ginger beef was not identifiable as such and was so sweet it was gross. Sweet and sour chicken had no moisture to it like the chicken had been roasted till it was dried out completely then battered . The beef and broccoli was passable at a food court level. Even the steamed rice was neither hot nor moist. Spring rolls were greasy and barely warm having been batch cooked and sat. Filling was bland and consisted of carrot and cabbage . Theirs no attempt at traditional Chinese technique here. I don't know. Maybe I hit two bad nights and ordered their worst items...

I've been to this location multiple times and always received good service, until now. Our family tradition is to eat Chinese food on Christmas eve so that no one has to work before the big meal on Christmas day. Last nights service was abysmal. We were quoted 45 minutes for our order at around 5:45. We showed up at the denoted time of 6:30 and were told it would be another 15 minutes. We then waited, at the restaurant, until 7:15 before they finally came out with our food. Not all the food was warm, but most of it tasted pretty good.

The staff could easily have said 1.5 hours and we would have come down to pick it up then.

I'll likely order elsewhere...

I recently ordered several items for dinner from this place. It was probably the most discusting chinese feel I have ever eaten. It was very late being delivered. It was NOT hot. The BBQ Pork was not bbq pork. The breaded almond chicken was very greasy. The gravy was extremely salty. The "egg rolls" were made in some kind of pasty shell that looked like a pasty wrapper. The filling was dry and not recognizable. I will never order here again! So greasy and salty. Overpriced for...
