The ambiance was consistent with what one would expect from a small town pub. With only one staff member on duty and four tables of customers upon our arrival, we anticipated that the service might be somewhat compromised.
Our server made a concerted effort to keep our coffees replenished, although there were occasional lapses, which were understandable given the circumstances. She was friendly and helpful in addressing our queries about the menu and subsequent follow-up.
There was a noticeable delay in the delivery of our meal, but we were not in a hurry. Our server explained that the cook had failed to show up, and the owner had taken on the cooking responsibilities.
This information elicited a more sympathetic response from us regarding the wait.
Once we received our meal, we found that everything tasted as it should, with good flavor profiles.
The omelette, while not aesthetically pleasing, was a commendable effort in terms of folding the eggs. It was a clear attempt to create a made-from-scratch dish, rather than relying on pre-frozen omelettes, which some establishments often use.
Personally, I prefer a genuine omelette, even if it lacks visual appeal. Therefore, I applaud the owner's effort and encourage them to continue this practice.
The portion sizes were generally satisfactory, except for a notable discrepancy in the serving of pancakes to another customer (as seen in the accompanying photograph).
The last pancake was significantly smaller than the others and had been placed at the bottom of the stack, which was disappointing, especially considering that it was the owner who had served it. This inconsistency accounted for the 4.5-star rating.
Overall, I would definitely return to this...
Read moreWe went late on a Sunday evening around 7. The place was supposed to close at 8 but said they would stay open for us. We had drinks and dinner. The food was great. 2 of us had butter chicken which was amazing. The burger was and huge patty and the beef dip was tasty. The people that complain about bad service need to think reasonable. They are a bar in a mostly summer community. They are family run and it wouldn't make sense in the off season to have a bunch of staff on. So what if you have to wait a bit if the food is great. We will definitely be coming back again.
Came back. Had burgers and beer. Very good. Wish I ate out more often to give this place more business.
Came back again. Had beer and the appy platter. I've never had such a good appy platter. It had tons of food and it was all freshly made and deep fried in fresh oil. Nothing pre made out of the freezer. The two of us were more than full after sharing it.
I've been here many more times. Thought I should leave an update. Still amazing. Had the best quesadilla I've ever had and yam fries that we've had many times and just seem better than anywhere else. We always get a pint of Belgium Moon beer and it's always cold and tasty. Service...
Read moreWhat a beautiful place to stop in for a bite to eat and/or beverage along your travels! Having visited on multiple occasions, I am consistently impressed by the menu options and the quality of the food.
During a night in Sorrento, my girlfriend and I opted for Copper Island Pub, where we enjoyed a leisurely evening engaging in various activities such as air hockey, basketball, and glow pool (in addition to the standard pool). The basement boasts a wide array of arcade games, while the beautiful patio overlooking the Shuswap adds to the charm during the summer. The overall atmosphere of the venue is noteworthy, prompting us to extend our stay until close on a Monday night, despite a day of extensive travel. It's worth noting that neither of us are frequent drinkers or bar enthusiasts.
While I typically refrain from leaving reviews, encountering a business that genuinely excites me to return prompts me to acknowledge their commendable efforts. For those passing through Sorrento, I highly recommend stopping by this establishment during...
