My partner and I are both locals and have worked in the food and hospitality industry for many years. The service we received today was borderline appalling. Before we even entered teds I had to use the facilities. The bathrooms looked post apocalyptic. Toilets filthy, no paper towel -besides the stuff strewn on the floor. Itâs spring break here- I get it. It gets busy. Crowds make a mess but this was unacceptable. We then proceeded to make our way to âtedsâ for our post snowshoe pint and usually delicious poutine. The sign said to wait to be seated so we did. A pretty much empty restaurant and no one came so we went to the self serve bar and asked if it was ok to seat ourselves. The bartender was immediately rude and said yeah I guess and asked what we wanted to drink. My partner asked what they had on tap and he replied with âjust the pale ale, and cansâ. We ordered two pints of the pale ale and sat at one of the three tables he allowed us to (again in a nearly empty restaurant). We opted for a booth next to another occupied booth with an amazing view I might add. We looked around hoping to make eye contact with a server but she seemed pre-occupied drinking her pop at the far corner of the restaurant. We finally hear her taking the booths next to usâ order and think great sheâs coming to us next but no⌠Avoided us like the plague. I thought maybe us ordering a beer from the self serve meant she though we only wanted beers so I walked up to her politely asked her for menus. She snarkily replied with â didnât you order from self serve? You can order your food there.ok I said⌠and as I walked back and sat at my table she brought us a menu. We looked it over out of politeness but we were honestly so put off by the whole interaction we didnât want to eat there. We finished our beers and left. (We regret tipping on the beers) would hate to see how this place operates when the place is full. Hope your free ski pass was worth it. This place needs MAJOR WORK on their customer service. We...
Read moreWe had lunch at Tedâs today. We ordered as we walked in, and within mins our food was ready. I complained about the pop. It was flat, and I suggested they changed the Co2 tank. The waitress wasnât apologetic, but rather dismissive. Our food arrived, and the Caesar salad was terrible. My salad tasted like an old bag of lettuce with day old chicken smothered in dressing on a small plate. And my husbandâs burger, was still raw. When I complained to the waitress, she seemed offended. I asked to talk to the manager, I then watched her complain to the manager. The manager came over, and offered me a new salad which I declined, and asked for a refund. My husband opted for a new burger. The lunch was $90.00 and it was poor quality of food. The staff need to brush up their customer service skills. I ended up leaving, and eating in the cafeteria style restaurant. i had a mango curry prawn salad which was delicious. But I had to eat alone, while my family finished their meal. This restaurant is a gold mine. Beautiful location, and has a lot of potential. Get new cooks, new food prep, and improve the food quality. Iâll be returning next weekend, but I will not go back to this restaurant. If the owner is reading this review, you need to make changes to the...
Read moreTonight I went to music bingo with a group of my friends and my husband who are staying up the mountain. The menâs washroom was closed and my husband and my male friends were standing outside waiting while an old white man walks into the female washroom and my husband says to not go in there and the man says âitâs okay I do this all the timeâ. When Iâm finished, I walk out and the workers are holding up my husband and my friends asking them questions blocking my way and I say that is my husband and he lets me through. We spoke to the workers and they told us that they understood our side, but the man who walked into the washroom is a regular. So because he is a regular he is allowed to walk in the womanâs washroom? How is a white old privileged man allowed to walk into the womenâs washroom while the other men are waiting for the menâs room to be open. If it was allowed, label them as âall genderâ. It is not okay for a man to walk into a womenâs washroom while other men have to wait because he is a regular. Because he spends money every week? Absolutely not okay. This was treated completely incorrectly and needs to...
