Coombs Cafe — Restaurant in Area F (Alberni Highway)

Do not eat here!! The food was so gross we spent 50$ of grease! The pizza had just chopped lunch meat for peperoni and the cheese was disgusting we couldn't eat the pizza at all! The fries we cold and the chicken strips we so crunchy they almost were dusting in my mouth! The staff that works there sat on the a** and did nothing! They were not nice and worked so slow. We waited 15 minutes for cold and wet food that was so unexpectable and inedible we had to throw it all out! A big waste of money i do not recommend wasting you time and hard earned money on a place that isn't food safe or care about what they are serving there customers. They made there lunch before our food even though we ordered first and eat it well making our food the whole time. Most of the time just standing around and walked away to go stand somewhere else. Other people came on the store to order food and they got ignored so they left. I wish we went somewhere else because this was by far the worst customer service and food i have...

Terrible employees and I would say even worse food but I can’t choose. The employees were VERY slow we waited over 45 minutes for 3 burgers and a bacon poutine and by the time the food came we were all disappointed, I had ordered a chicken burger and was very disappointed to find it grilled (which it said NOTHING about) and packed with bad tasting onions. The bacon poutine was awful too, the bacon tasted like ham. After we had as much as we could of our food, we threw it out and went to get ice cream. The employees were talking with eachother instead of taking our order, by the time they were done with their conversation we were upset and then they told us they didn’t have enough ice cream. While I was there I also heard multiple other families talking about how bad their food tasted and how terrible the place was. In summary, disgusting food, slow unhelpful employees, lack of communication in their menu and poor overall leadership by the owner(s). I would not recommend stopping here in Coombs...

We had high expectations with this place as the adjoining store has such good product and bakery. I got the turkey pannini with cranberry sauce. It was gross, and was made with dry brown turkey meat, I couldn't eat it and no server came around to see how things were going so I could tell them I didn't like it. Or ask for more mayo to make it less dry. But with that said, their tortilla soup was good, their fries were super good and my husband enjoyed his burger. The service was not good, our server never came around after dropping off the food and we sat and waited too long for someone to come around and clear our plates and bring the bill. When the server did finally come around she smelled of cigarette smoke, I guess that is where she was. I also didn't like how the tip percentage options started at 18%, 20 and 22.
