EDIT: Owner's response speaks for itself, I tipped (when paying) & was very pleasant I was excited to try the highly rated food + came from out of town, very hopeful for a wonderful experience unfortunately the truth isn't pretty but it's honest.
I had mentioned when giving the order that we tried to come the day before, but it was closed so I was doing takeout for us to try, on my way home 1h away.
If you're selling Thai & Jerk wraps they should be good, tasty ~ Infact the lady who took my order said "You're going to Love the Food!"
AND as I wrote, I gave the benefit of the doubt, I didn't know until I got home & truly had a chance to eat + my husband tried it & confirmed, it wasn't good. Bad experience for us both, we would have loved to have awesome food & write an amazing review!
A classy reply (from the owner) would be an apology & and to offer to make it right, I even took the time to write you (via Square receipt rating), providing details on the experience & referencing this Google review, sharing that we would be open to meet half way, & try again. Not asking for a refund, which speaks for itself.
Being of integrity is #1 ~ not lying or hiding, but telling the truth about this (& any) difficult experience. Especially when one is paying for a service.
We Love local businesses ♥️ & love supporting them, while being honest. 🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦🍁
Was excited to try this place after seeing the reviews, went on Canada Day (visiting from out of town, 1h away) in the late afternoon.
Ordered Thai Wrap & Jerk Wrap for takeout ~ the music was SO loud you had to yell over it to try to order, (which had me wondering if I should continue, but I went ahead, hoping for a great meal & experience based on the 4.9/5* google rating.)
When when the food came, I tried to eat some of the Thai Wrap as I was starving~ it was leaking sauce & the wrap was falling apart, not a great sign...
The cook did re-do the wrap, which I appreciated, but unfortunately it was not a great taste & definitely NOT Thai flavour (tho the rice, chicken & veggies were done well + cheese added (weird for Thai).
I was hoping maybe it was just me, but my husband was not able to eat it, when I got home (1h away, I had mentioned when ordering) tho he tried. It was super soggy by then, very disappointing + off flavour.
The Jerk Wrap was better tho exact same filling done with strong jerk flavouring ~ not super tasty tho. spicy. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either.
We had to use a variety of our own sauces at home to try to make both wraps taste better.
You'd hope for $45 including tip, it would be good food, there was a lot of content but the taste was lacking on both wraps and the soggy Thai Wrap was really disappointing. The salsa & chips that came with both meals was decent.
Maybe it's best to stick to the burgers vs. wraps...
Hate to do a low review but need to be honest, it was...
Read moreWhat an eclectic compound of fun and flavor. Amalgamation of indoor and outdoor dining spaces with a wide ranging menu of mostly hand held meals. Burgers, wraps, hot dogs, sandwiches, and a Mexican menu of tacos & burritos. A couple of salads thrown in. The service here was outstanding as Lisa(?) could not have been more friendly or accommodating. Our meal choices were a chicken quesadilla for myself and a mushroom swiss burger for DW. The tortilla was stuffed with large amounts of both grilled veggies and chicken with just the right amount of cheese to hold it all in place. Served with a very flavorful pineapple salsa. Loved every bite. The burger was very nicely done in almost all respects-grilled as ordered, fresh lettuce and tomato, and delicious grilled onions. Unfortunately, the mushrooms in the title were cooked previously and as my DW described “refrigerator cold”. I chose to bring it to our hostess attention and she could not have been more apologetic, offering to make her a new burger or taking it off of our bill. We let her know that these were not necessary, we would be okay. Just wanted to inform the kitchen. But too our pleasant surprise it had been taken off our check. Very nice gesture. A quick note on the fries-DW felt they were dusted with a seasoning blend that some may find too spicy. Even with our issue, I’d recommend stopping here for a good meal and excellent service if...
Read moreI was so glad we decided to stop here for lunch on the way to Coombs Old Country Market (“Goats on the Roof”). This place is a small roadside grill with enclosed covered seating (like a large tent) as well as patio tables with umbrellas.
Service was warm and friendly, food was well made and reasonably priced. We had the Mushroom Swiss burger, Teriyaki Chicken burger and 2 kids meals, all large portions and delicious.
We were pleasantly surprised by the pager that tells us when the food is ready (only took 10 min). We were encouraged to explore the little shops in the pull-out which were run by local artisans/collectors so we were able to buy some gifts while we were waiting. There was something...
