This rating is a direct result of the abominable treatment I received from a server at Trees last week!

I understand there is a staffing shortage blanketing many communities atm. Which undoubtedly can make it a challenge to find quality staff/servers. However, if a staff member is behaving in an unprofessional, rude, and even aggressive manner toward patrons then perhaps it’s time to rethink that hire!!??

After a ridiculous go around with a very unhelpful, dismissive, rude server, which could have been avoided completely if she had simply been polite, attentive, and asked for more clarity, I ended up having to request to speak with the manager in order to fulfil my order.

While having a discussion, and relaying my experience/concerns to management the server walked over, and rudely interrupted the conversation. She escalated the situation, and began trying to save face by accusing me of being rude, which was an untruth. Anyone in the vicinity could see/hear that I had been both polite, and patient in my dealings with her.

At this point however my patience had worn thin. I’d had quite enough of this server’s repugnant behaviour. So, I called her out on her lie, and told her exactly what I thought of her nasty, unprofessional attitude.

At one point the manager stepped in to physically nudge the server away from me, as she was actually right in my face posturing with an aggressive attitude. She refused to follow her managers instructions, so I told her very firmly to get out of my face. I had to say it twice before she finally took her leave.

I was very taken aback! I mean who acts that way, and in their work place to boot?! All I could think was what is happening here, in this place of business? Is this for real? Am I being punked? Unbelievable!

Afterwards the manager took me aside, presented me with the product I had come to purchase, and apologized for the waitresses unprofessional, beligerent behaviour.

Sadly it cannot undo, nor rectify this terribly off-putting experience. This unhinged behaviour by the staff reflects extremely poorly on the business as a whole.

Myself, my family, my friends will never return to this establishment again after this inexcusable treatment. TREES has lost my business.

This was our first time here, and it was definitely a let down. First, they need to change the flow of how people enter and wait for seating vs how people pay after eating. Staff can't tell who is who leading to long waits that are entirely unnecessary... For example, if sit down customers paid at their tables it would cut down on the confusion and traffic backlog significantly. The staff also seemed incredibly confused about who was doing what/helping which customers leading to significant inefficiency which only slowed everything down more. Second, I ordered a sandwich with side salad. The sandwich was okay but the salad was a joke. It was a small amount of a couple (relatively wilted) different lettuces topped with 1 (one) piece of raw onion roughly 1.5 inches long. No dressing, no other vegetables, nothing. Probably the worst house salad I've ever had. My partner had a sandwich with a side of fries. The sandwich was okay, the fries were appallingly bad. They were not crispy at all, they looked like they were made yesterday and served today, and they were not hot. Nearly inedible. The only thing that saved them was that they did have salt on them. The reason I'm giving the food a 3 star rating was because the dessert we had was actually pretty good - it was by far the best thing we ordered. If I ever returned here I would only buy...

UPDATE Just tried the old BIGFOOT BURGERS now Trees I was approached when the initial review was posted, Ted apologized, explained and was very gracious. He also had told us that the TREES would be PHOENIX -ING at the BB site. Tried it today, Great baked goods, friendly staff, face lifted decor, and a great little spot to warm up not a far drive! One request, BRING BACK THE UBE SHAKE!!! Thank you Ted, your dedication to customers was exibited and appreciated.

Old post below:

Well done,We were disappointed. The place was really busy, we appreciate that, we were seated by a very nice, very busy young lady who took our order and brought coffee, and promptly forgot us. Four tables just around us were seated after us, and received their orders before I got up to inquire as to why/what happened. I was told we would be" the next one up just after one table ahead of us..." We waited We got a refill on coffee, and saw three more orders go out, We debated just paying and leaving. Then ours arrived warm, not hot, so it had waited a little while. A mumbled "sorry" could be heard. We understand the volume of orders and work involved, on a busy Sunday morning, however, a simple apology would have gone much further than a dismissal of an inquiry of an order placed 45 minutes earlier, after being reminded it was missed. Mistakes happen, it wasn't...

I've heard wonderful things about this place and was really excited to try it on our trip to Qualicum. However, the service here was very unpleasant. It was obvious we were not their ideal customers and we were made to feel so. We went here on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy some brunch. We were barely acknowledged when we went in (while other customers around us were getting helped) and when we finally did sit down, the server came across very passive agressive and rude. I asked her very simple questions ("What kind of sides does this come with?" and "What type of bread do you have?") and I was given very haughty answers ("It's on the menu" for both questions). We were hardly checked in on and the server barely made any conversation (which I don't care about but it was clear she was making an effort with other customers). The food was good. Nothing crazy but it was freshly made and the taste was good, although they could've used more seasoning. But when the service is bad at a restaurant, it's very difficult to thoroughly enjoy your experience. I truly hope this restaurant serves future POC customers better than they did us!

I recently had the pleasure of having breakfast at Trees Restaurant and Bakery, and it was an exceptional experience. The Hog Wild Breakfast was absolutely divine, featuring homemade sausages, perfectly poached eggs, flavorful hollandaise, and the freshest ingredients. It was hands down the best I've ever had! A special shoutout to our waitress, Morgan, who made the experience even more enjoyable. She was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Her excellent service added a wonderful touch to an already outstanding meal. I highly recommend Trees Restaurant and Bakery for anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast spot. Five stars all the way!

Trees Bakery was there for us in our time of crisis (crisis being we didn't remember to get a cake for a very special birthday). We walked in last Sunday morning and there behind glass was the most beautiful looking chocolate fudge cake. Chocolate was the only request and the cake was perfection! So moist, so delicious. Everyone was happy, most of all the birthday girl. Customer service was top notch and we will never buy a cake elsewhere!! Thank you Trees Bakery! We will be back!
