One of the best ham/cheese and mushroom omelette I have ever had...awesome. small cafe on the side of the road with ample parking for cars and motorhomes, even if you are towing. Easy in and out. Super busy the Sunday morning we stopped...worth the wait. Be sure and bring your appetite! I passed on the home made hashbrowns because I had been warned of the serving size, but tasted my husbands....fabulous. staff is cheerful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Coming home from 150mile ice fishing vacation, we stopped in Lac LA Hache for some breakfast at a random spot we saw as we coasted by! Looked intriguing so figured we'd try it out! It didn't disappoint! The portions were HUGE and the service was super friendly! Very home restaurant feel which was awesome! Worth a stop if you are ever on that hwy!

Finally a place that has Great! Burgers. Starting with a 1/2 lb patty!! Then all the other stuff is fresh and well put together price is more than fair for the food.. best burger I have had in the Cariboo in 10 years!

I walked away very disappointed with this meal. Don't get the Roast beef.. The menu description is a lie and it was way overpriced for cheap frozen food you could buy at any grocery store.. "Slow roasted alberta beef" meant dry cold cut roast beef covered in what was obviously .99 store package gravy. "seasonal veggies"... were generic cheap frozen. If the meal was 10 bucks I'd be fine with that, but it was described and priced as something it most definitely is not. My partner and I spent 50 with the tip.. not worth it at all. In short, its not fresh food. Just go to a grocery store instead. You may be fine with a burger and fries but definitely skip...

When I was driving through Lac La Hache for a Saturday Drive. I went into Hungry Bear Diner just to look inside. When I got into the Diner I got service like I've never gotten before. Very respectful and they answered all my questions. When I looked at the menu not very hungry I couldn't pass up the delicious food with good prices. I knew I couldn't leave with an empty stomach.

Even with this pandemic happening they still had tables and chairs outside with a structure building protecting us from the rain.

To any of you who want something delicious to eat stop in at the Hungry Bear Diner. You will not regret it, I know I didnt. I can't wait until...

After being away from this "restaurant" for over 8 years,it was really disappointing,we use to have a place on Rail lake and would frequent the Hungry Bear often,I ordered a burger and fries,my wife had a Patti melt and soup ,my fries were so greasy, they were translucent(re heated in oil ?) Both of our patti's were dripping in grease and there was plenty of bone fragments in them,I don't know why but we were never asked how the food was by our server. I used to recommend this restaurant on different fishing...
