Cafe Mt Robson — Restaurant in Area H (Robson Valley/Canoe)

Location and atmosphere were nice. People working there were friendly, but a little too casual with the service. Had a series of strange interactions with the staff where I got the feeling they were inexperienced or incompetent.

No beer, which is fine, but it’s a Friday during peak season so that was disappointing. All out of canned cocktails too. Ok, I go with the wine. It comes in a plastic cup you get at a water cooler. It was plain bad wine, and at $9 for a 6 oz glass I would just skip it altogether. I ordered the range burger. It was ok, but I wasn’t expecting gourmet for a roadside cafe. An absolute gem! I had a chocolate avalanche from here, and it was the absolute best one I’ve ever had in my life. I will travel back to Canada from Australia just to make my way to this cafe for another one, even if I go for no other reason, and that’s no exaggeration. There were loads of other pastries and muffins and sandwiches and hot dishes to pick from too. The staff were so friendly and there were plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view of the glorious Mt Robson. The toilets were well maintained. A lovely cafe next to the Mount Robson Provincial Park Visitor Centre & shop. We stopped here for a bite to eat after hiking the Kinney Lake Trail - parking was easy and the location was ideal. The food was fresh and tasty, with an excellent selection of options for our dietary requirements too! Service was also very good as staff were friendly and accommodating.
