We camped here for 3 days. The place is amazing. The showers are free, cleaned at minimum 3 times per day. Even the pit toilets are spotless. If you need firewood you put the little red "W" card on your post and the wood guy delivers it to you. (He will literally dump it wherever you want it). There is a small gas station/restaurant/store across from the camp ground. Only downside is they close at 5pm and don't have much in the way of camping supplies but the food at the restaurant is awesome. Luckily Valemount is only 30 mins away and there are 3 gas stations with stores, a Subway, A&W and a Tim Horton's there. It's about a 4 hour drive from Edmonton heading towards BC on the Yellowhead highway (#5) located in Mt. Robson National Park. Lots of 1st come, 1st serve sight but check with the park host if you are staying more than 1 or 2 nights as to which sites you can use. We will definitely be going back even if we have to reserve a site to stay longer.
PS. The wood is $10 per tote, if you need some to cook dinner or whatever while waiting for the delivery guy you can buy a tote full from the host and he'll dump it in your car for you. I also asked where they get the wood from. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it is harvested from the camp grounds from either trees that have already fallen or ones they've had to cut down for...
Read moreRobson Meadows campground is a nice, large, peaceful, campground for tenting & RV’s. It’s easy to reserve / book a site online. The Fraser River is nearby. The view of Mt. Robson is spectacular (when it’s not blocked by clouds) from the visitor centre & the group campsite. We noticed there’s a fairly high turnover of people coming and going, as well as it doesn’t seem to ever be fully booked, so it’s a nice spot to camp at if you don’t like crowds. There was even less at the Robson River Campground (plus it has full hook ups for RV’s). Robson Meadows is a great home base from which you can do hikes, biking, sightseeing of beautiful locations like Overlander Falls, Berg Falls, the lookout, Moose Lake, Kinney Lake, Berg Lake (trail still closed in 2023 for repairs). We hiked with our bikes to Kinney Lake to witness the beautiful, peaceful view of the campsite there. Then we were able to ride back in a fraction of the time back to Robson Meadows. Highly recommend experienced Mtn bikers to bring your bike for this hike, you won’t regret it. Mt. Robson is one of the most photogenic Mountains IMO, so be sure to take some pics for memories when...
Read moreAmazing we go yearly to watch the salmon run and sit in our camp spot and pick berries right there. Have managed over the years to find hidden away places that take your breath away! Staff and patrons are all so friendly and happy. If your looking for that good summer vacation place this is it. I've lived in Alberta my whole life so I know camping I go weekly. The sites are huge but minimal yes however there are no spots that you are sitting on top of each other you have space to play right at the site. I'm sad to say they had to cancel some activities they once offered due to a lack of funding from the government of bc. Hands down one of my favorite places, hotsprings everywhere great hiking and cycling routes, fishing, waterfalls, playgrounds, farmers markets (have to get the orange watermelon OMG I've never had something so good) theme being there us something for everyone and any age. Everthing is either right there or a short 29km drive to Valmont. Everyone should experience the salmon run and watching them jump the falls as grizzlies are standing there eating them. It's awe-inspiring and breathtaking 10/10 or...
