I can't believe this boba tea shop has a such high rating.. This is like a very very VERY ALSO MOST mid-tier ( NOT GOOD ) bubble tea shop I have ever tried in a long time! Date: a few days ago. I was visiting my friend in aurora for the weekend and decided to try out the Gong Cha in aurora to see if the yonge one is better or worse.. When we entered, there wasn't really anyone which I don't have a problem with. I ordered a Pearl milk tea with grass jelly because I don't really like tapioca.. While, my friend got a brown sugar bubble tea..The service was not that bad.. We got our drinks in less than a few minutes, I was glad but when we were about to leave. I saw the person who made the bubble tea also the cashier since it was only him in the store drop a towel on the floor, accidently"" stepped on it and didnt even clean it! He just used it to wipe the bubble tea machine, etc. anyway. I was about to say something but didn't because I was nice enough to just let it slide.. Disappointing also bad hygiene. For some reason though, the store was really clean like the tables. When my friend and I went to the car to try the bubble tea. I drank mines, lemme tell you it was BAD like for real, the milk tea tasted unflavored like milk+water, I quickly spitted it out on a tissue.. I WAS LIKE I HAVE NEVER TASTED SO UNFLAVOURED BOBA ( the milk tea was like the worst ).. I almost threw up!! my friend tried his brown sugar bubble tea which I expected to probably be good because its BROWN SUGAR BOBA!!! He said the it was okay but could use some improvement, also he said the boba was uncooked? I was confused but yeahh... This is my review, hope this place can really improve the milk...
Read moreMid-way through ordering for 4 ppl I was informed that there was only enough tapioca for one. I was disappointed as had been craving tapioca all day, so I paused to consider what to do next (order sth else or go elsewhere). Don't know if it's the owner or an employee, but the cashier starts making excuses and telling me about the tricky logistics of running a business and how she would be willing to wait 30 mins if she wanted tapioca. Mind you, it was 6pm and they close at 9pm, so don't know why they'd run out so early. She said everyone wanted bubbles that day (go figure). I didn't bother to tell her that I have 15 years of experience in the food business, 7yrs of running my own busy food service operation, so am familiar with all the reasons you might "run out" of something. When you don't have the product that a customer wants, the right response is simply to apologize and offer solutions or an incentive, not to explain why you didn't do your job well. We went elsewhere to satisfy my tapioca craving. However, due to the cashiers lack of customer service attitude we won't be back to try...
Read moreMy elderly mum and I visited here after learning of the new Gong Cha location tonight. The staff were extremely kind and patient with us as having bubble tea was a new experience for her. They helped us learn about the special BOGO deal too which was the cherry on top! Thank you so much to Kevin and other employee (sorry I didn’t learn your name!) for your brilliant service. My mum really enjoyed the bubble tea and looks forward to visiting again. A truly heart warming 5 star...
