St. Louis Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Barrie

Terrible waitress, Meghan. The restaurant had 8 tables seated on arrival. And 5 seated on departure and one that arrived since our arrival. Very slow, to be nearly considered dead. She Took our order. I Ordered a sangria my husband had a water and our 6yr old daughter had a water. Meghan returns 12 minutes later with the 3 drinks and proceeds to place the sangria infront of the 6 year old and the waters infront of my husband and I. My husband said “well the alcohols definitely not for the child.” It went Completely ignored and Meghan immediately asked what we were ordering.

After 21 minutes which seemed long for the amount of patrons but not any responsibility of the waitress. And this review is mostly a unsatisfied one due to the waitresses attitude and careless disrespect.

Right after she set the food down she served a drink to the other table and turned back to our table to ask how the food was when it was clear we just received it and we hadnt even placed it infront of our right seats yet, nevermind tried it to check if the food was good.

We ate and didn’t see her again till the end for the bill. She didn’t mention the kids free desert so we asked and ordered a chocolate sundae. Paid and still tipped her 8$ on a 50$ bill waited 9 more minutes no sundae, my husband asked as she walked by and she said sorry we’re just way too busy right now. Meanwhile at this point There was only one table that hadn’t got its food and a total of 6 tables seated in the 30 table restaurant. She then asked the manager to make a caramel sundae. My husban said oh no it’s chocolate. She said “oh now you want chocolate?” He said, “no it was chocolate sundae we ordered. She basically rolls her eyes and says “yea sure no problem,” 3 minutes later she returns to the table with a caramel sundae. we said “no it was chocolate” she said “yea chocolate.”, points at it., he said “this is caramel”. She says yea “we don’t have chocolate, only vanilla.” He responds by saying “you offered caramel or chocolate” She says “well yea we have chocolate and caramel drizzle.” At this point he stayed polite but it was getting frustrating cause her matter of fact attitude and the fact her politeness vanished after getting tipped was discouraging. I spoke up and simply said yes chocolate syrup was what we would like. The manager brought it out no apology or any words at all, we ate and walked out right past them and received no thank you for business or goodbye, even though this concern of the issue with poor service was not displayed at all. I went to have dinner here with my family yesterday and I was very disappointed. To start off, it took our waitress 10 minutes to come up and ask for our drinks, and then another 10 to bring them out. We love St. Louis and have gone to different locations many times, but this one was just bad. We ordered one garlic dill chicken burger, one order of chicken tenders and fries and two orders of 1lb chicken wings with fries with MILD sauce on the SIDE. The garlic dill chicken burger was so spicy it was inedible, I couldn't even finish half of it. The chicken tenders and fries were EXTREMELY overcooked. Our waitress forgot one of our orders of the 1lb chicken wings with fries and she said she forgot to put the order in.... When it finally came out, (we specifically asked for mild sauce because my father feels sick from spicy food) it was so hot that yet again, it was inedible. I understand that times are rough due to Covid, but this service in unacceptable. We just wanted to go out to have a good dinner, but our whole experience was ruined. Needless, to say, we will not be returning to this St. Louis, nor will we be recommending...

When we arrived and were seated at our table, a very nice server took our drink order. We then heard her get chastised by another server for taking our drink order at her table (we both got water, that's it). This other waitress brought our drinks and mine had blue particles in it. Back it went. Waiting well over an hour for your food, especially at lunch time, is not acceptable. There were not that many people at the restaurant. Our waitress blamed it on takeout orders. When our food did finally arrive my wrap was over cooked and my husbands boneless wings had the wrong sauce on them. We both upgraded our fries to poutine and you will see in the pictures not much care was put into that either...one had lots of cheese curds and the other had almost none. I think all of this would have been a bit easier to handle had we at least had a pleasant, attentive server but we didn't. We have had bad experiences at St. Louis in Collingwood, Wasaga Beach and now Barrie. There are too many other good restaurants around to ever waste our time and money at St. Louis Bar &...
