Au Bootlegger — Restaurant in Bathurst

We went for dinner Wednesday night July 3rd my wife and I plus another couple. This was our second time there, because out first time there last year was amazing!!

We sat down inside and the waiting told us he would be 2 minutes, and we waited 20 minutes. Understandably he was busy. But then, it took another 20 minutes to get our food order in, and 50 minutes to get our food! Never once he came to check see if we were ok, or that they were working on our order. My wife ordered the lobster poutine, and the was one very little piece of lobster! We made the waiter aware of it, and the club sandwich the chicken tasted off like it was past experation date. The other 2 dishes were the smash burgers, and they were good. The owner Michael Petrovici was there but didn't seemed concerned of the amount of people waiting long amounts of time for their food. Terrible experience, we will not go again.

The only thing I dislike about this place is how loud the music is during the daytime. I went with my daughter for dinner and we had to yell to hear each other to be heard. I am indifferent towards the genre of music but, that being said , we were subjected to the most obnoxious and indulgent harmonica solo the seemed to never end . It caused me to have a panic attack . Once I recovered I was unable to enjoy my meal and we certainly didn't enjoy the environment. We returned this summer, we were the only ones there and again the music is at a level that is all consuming where I am unable to focus or think but this time I spoke with the staff and they were very kind and understanding and turned down the music to the lowest level . I like this place, and I understand it's a bar but I don't understand why the music has to be the same level at 1pm as...

Worst service ever experienced.

Waited a good 10 minutes with unhappy barmaids going around avoiding us. when I say un happy I mean with frowns. So I went to the bar and waited another good 5 minutes at the bar with the girls still going around, talking together... impossible to get at least eye contact. Impressive, when finally we got someone to talk to us we quickly ordered a beer.

Oh and they were 4 barmaids, in the most there were 20 people in the place....

By the time we were ready to order pizza, it took so long that we had finished our beers, well they never came to order the meal, while we waited 2 tables came in waited and left for lack of service. Beer choice was great but impossible to order without feeling like a piece of .... sad, we were hopping to take a few beers and eat. So we left and ate...
