August 2018 Very good overall, yet the service is odd at best. Very inconsistent from one server to another. Also a lot of kids that seems to be working there but not really employees... weird. but the food is really good! May 30th, 2019 I'd like to revise my rating from 4 to 4.25 here. the first time I was there was an odd experience but I've been there many time since and I may have been a bit harsh the first time and didn't offer advices to improve. Since my last rating I have been there many time, including with colleagues and clients. I had had pleasure to enjoy both the terrace and the upstairs section. I haven't seen any kids around and the servers were always very professional. Over and above service? Well I'd say yes as twice they've helped me to find an electrical outlet to plug my computer and refilled my coffee as I worked without me having to ask. Once I was the very last client there on a slow night and they never pressured me to leave so they can close so I was able to meet a deadline without interruption. It was very much appreciated and reflected in the tip but I think it should be shared publicly also.
Words of advise for free as I care for your success and it is shared in the kindest and most respectful way: Go easy on the sauce in some of the dishes (Pad Thai particularly) and be careful of pre-made sauces from your food distributors as they may not really represent the taste they're supposed to represent. On this same note, be aware that perhaps the local crowd may accept, even enjoy, the dishes you present as they are good and appealing, however many has travelled and lived outside of Chaleur region and has tasted actual international cuisine. It can be a bit of a shock when we're presented a dish that doesn't resemble, or taste what is expected. (It is good! but not what's expected) ...I'm all for bringing world cuisine to NB and of course I encourage culinary experimentation, however culinary integrity is important for restoration credibility. When it doubt, use "Asian Fusion Noodles". Last thing, invest a bit in the menu you present to your client. The current ones look and feel cheap (think old school road side garage/restaurent) and brings down the first impression/experience. This is not how your restaurent is or should be positioned and the details are important in this business. your menu brings down your brand. As a customer and based on everything else, I'd be willing to pay 1$-2$ more per dish just to be presented with a quality menu and has the same flair and panache as some of your other features The difference in price would more than cover the extra cost and time it takes to keep it up to date. I hope I was not too harsh and this can help you reflect on your branding and client experience. Kindest regards and best of luck. You have a gem of a restaurent...
Read moreI am fairly disappointed with the food and service we received today. We arrived and were the only people in the restaurant. We ordered spanokopita to start, a chicken Cesar wrap and a greek chicken burger for the main course. We waited over 30 minutes for our food with no sign of our server. Everything was brought out at once, which is not what we requested. The spanokopia was dried out and difficult to eat because the Phyllo pastry was hard as a brick. The tortilla on the chicken wrap was also dried out and falling apart like a hard cracker. I ordered extra sauce for the greek burger and was brought out salad dressing instead. The food was subpar and the service was just as bad. The gentleman that served us was nowhere to be found at any time during the meal. Our water glasses were dirty, we had to get up serval times to try and find him during our meal because he did not once quality check us or see if we needed anything else. At the end of the meal, we sat at the table for a considerable amount of time and decided to go to the cash to see if anyone else would help us. Several staff members walked by and we were still unacknowledged. We ordered a poutine to go and the fries were dried out, there was no gravy and just overall a waste a money because we threw it in the trash. I remember going to this restaurant years ago and it was always my favorite. I was very excited to finally be able to return again but it was just a...
Read moreThe restaurant has a great location on the waterfront, but the outside seating area was not really inviting. Due to the nice weather we chose to sit outside regardless. The waitress was friendly and approached us promptly. She brought the menus and provided the specials. They offered a lobster roll including fries for $29. We asked to get it without fries, because we didn’t want to eat too much for lunch. They gave us a discount of $5. The food came quickly, but the lobster roll for $24 was a small bun with a minimal amount of lobster! I had seen pictures of their lobster roll on the website, but this was barely half of that! What a disappointment and we definitely didn’t overeat! The taste was good, but so not worth the money. . Unfortunately, we were so shocked about the size that I forgot to take a picture. We have eaten lobster rolls at many different places, but this did not hold up to...
