Visited this establishment as I heard that they had a food truck in the area a couple of years ago. I figured that if they graduated to a restaurant, either the food was spectacular or they were doing very well!

The location of this resto is in what many refer to as the blue building (government building in Bathurst centre ville).

It is on the bottom floor of a pristine government building. The restaurant is small (maybe 10-14 tables), and you order and pay right away, and then they make your food. Didn't really care for that as I would have preferred to have had my food first and then pay (and tip accordingly).

Tables were clean, as was all the china, and while you wait, you are greeted with Bollywood classics and some movie videos.

Was having vegan food, and so things like paneer didn't exactly work. In the end, I decided to get a mix of onion and vegetable pakora + rajma masal combo (kidney bean curry) + gobhi aloo combo (potato and cauliflower curry). Simply put, the food was very good.

A few things here...

  1. The pakoras had a lot of dough to them, and the onion was tasty.
  2. The pakoras were accompanied by what should have been a tamarind chutney (sauce) - what we got was a LOT sweeter - almost like maple syrup, which was different.
  3. When they say combo, it is the main dish, basmati rice, and naan, which ends up being extremely filling! It would be nice to have less starches and more variety for the price you pay.
  4. We asked for the dishes to be spicy, and they were able to adjust accordingly - this was welcomed.
  5. Not much in the way of desserts at the time of our visit - there was only a chocolate samosa.
  6. One this I thought was strange was the the rice and curry dishes came in plastic bowls like containers you'd get from the grocery store for 250ml of sour cream (only clear) but were served on big beautiful plates.
  7. The bathrooms are part of the government building, so you have to exit the restaurant and come back in - a little annoying but not the end of the world!

The owner and his wife and staff were lovely people - hard working and trying to introduce a new cusine that is not at all common to the region! I really commend them for their conviction and wish them...

I visited 3rd time hoping that today will be good. First of all there was no one in the reception to take the order. We took a seat and then I have to stand up and have to go to front to call him even thought he saw us. I got the menu when I told him to provide. Most ridiculous thing if I ask for different menu with indian appetisers he will always say no even though he has everything. He is doing all this just because he don't want to serve and work. Every single time I come he does not have any interest to serve the customers and honestly this is my last time visiting. I ordered a samosa chat I can literally smell the expired green and sweet sauce. I ordered a paneer burrito there was barely one piece of paneer with no taste at all rice inside was not properly cooked Pav bhaji there was nothing to eat and also ordered a ramen bowl I just took a sip and keep the whole thing aside. Only thing was average was the panner stuffing thing but after having the entire food my stomach was not feeling good my head feel giddy. I could have complained right away but I wanted to let people know about this. It was such a horrible customer service with no smile no eye contact and no thank you. Worst hospitality I have ever saw. I hope the owner of this restaurant comes to...

We have been travelling all over Canada and on our 5th day, craved for some ethnic Indian food. Since we were in Bathurst, we were able to find this Indian restaurant to eat at. The place is very clean and the staff were very courteous too. We ordered Daal Bukhari and Chick peas, which they served with naan bread and rice serving( complimentary with all their dishes) Food was very tasty, and on inquiry we came to know that the previous experience of the cook was in a top five star hotel from Mumbai!! Having come from Toronto which has lots of Indian restaurants, we found the taste of food at Dilli Delight better than the Toronto restaurants, we have eaten at…..thanks to Vijesh, the cook….. will definitely visit if we are back in Bathurst in the future! Strongly...

This place is soooo good!! 😭 Got food from here 3 times in a month, two in-person and one take-out. I’m from Las Vegas, and no Indian restaurant I’ve ate at over there has ever compared to this one in Bathurst. You guys definitely put a lot of love into the quality of your food. The naan bread is fluffy and thick, which I’m now addicted to. I tried the brownie samosa poutine, and it’s an amazing contrast from the gooey chocolate to the hard-shelled samosa. I think the flavor of the food is something hard to forget, and their portions are always filling regardless if it’s takeout or not. I recommend going in-person instead of doing take-out. The presentation of their food is something to appreciate and the quality will always be 1000x better at the restaurant than through a box.

Don't be fooled by the RV! Stop right now or turn around and go get some. The food is simply amazing. If you're tired of the same junk food every restaurant serve in the region and looking for something different, then this is the place to go. You have to know that not everything is spicy/hot. Unless you tell them you want it hot, it really is not. Our go to is of course the butter chicken. In the pictures you have the samosa chaat, the butter chicken, and the noodle. SO GOOD. I'm so full right now, but my mouth just want more.
