We arrived here right after the madness of the Labour Day, as we have been told both the restaurant and the provincial park we were headed to, had to turn people away due to being so busy. That is why we always avoid going at the weekend to such places and prefer to laze around the house than to receive sub standard service due to the staff being over worked. As we arrived just before lunch time with a view to go to the nearby park, we noticed the sleepy town and the part on the left of the restaurant I wish they covered somehow, as it looked so depressing and sub par to the amazing food we experienced. We sat on the right, with no one to disturb us and had our fish and chips, asking for tomatoes to accompany my food (which proved so difficult at other restaurants). The staff, most specifically the slim lady with fringe has been amazing: friendly, lovely, respectful and brought everything to us with a smile. For the first time in a long time, I actually finished all the plate and then went to their back terrace to admire the submarine I would have liked to tour, but it was closed on the Tuesday we came here. People like this lady contribute to actually making your day a memorable one: good food (most surely we will return to try their quesadilla and fajitas or even the breakfast options) then an amazing day in the provincial park. Hopefully next time we will be here the famous submarine (the newest out of all the submarines out there to visit) will be open too.

I went here for a dinner date with my girlfriend to try somewhere new and fun, and I have to say it was great to say the least! I ordered the "King Grilled Cheeseburger" with a poutine and my lady got the Bacon Poutine with Mozza Sticks. The food was very delicious, and looked good too. My burger was very filling for a big guy like me and all the toppings were very high quality, and even better, the bacon tasted very sweet and natural, better than most I've had on a burger. The poutine was amazing, the fries and cheese curds were perfect, our only criticism is that the gravy was very salty, but other than that the food was perfect. However, the best part about the experience was our waiter, who I also assume to be the manager. She was very nice, patient and welcoming, and since me and my gf were the only ones there at the time, we were all small talking about our day and things. I was very comfortable there, the food was amazing and me and my gf both agree that this is a new favorite for us. If you ever stop for lunch in Port Burwell, come here!

I'm a sucker for anywhere that gives me even the slightest feeling beach vibes. We've driven well over an hour just to come sit on the patio and eat some fish and chips here. The view is ...well... different, I mean there's a massive naval sub 100 feet from the patio, where does that happen!? I haven't tried all the food, I hear the poutine rivals anything you can get in Quebec, but the fish and chip platter is where you hit the motherload! The fries are perfectly crispy without that burned oil flavour at most places. The batter is crispy yet fluffy somehow, it's magic. The fish is fresh and so delicious. And it's MASSIVE! The dill pickle fries have real dill pickles and dill on them! They're really good but can use a touch more pickle flavour and a bit more ranch, but it's great just the way it is. Service is on point, very friendly and fast, and the price is super affordable. When you're done here hop across the road and grab some incredible ice cream and take a walk down to the water. Well worth the drive!

Editing to add: we came back at the end of this summer as we were told by a few people that they had a great time. Our server was very sweet. She had a lot of tables but she was doing a great job keeping everyone’s glasses filled and food was constantly being delivered to people. The back patio was well spaced out and felt very Covid safe. Glad we came again, and I’m sure will be back next year.

We came here last year and really enjoyed. Yummy food, fair size portions, average pricing and the service was really good. So when we came back this year we were happy to bring a group with us to have dinner. Restaurants open and close and change over hands often in Burwell so two of us walked ahead to check the menu and see if it was still the same as last year. After standing in the doorways for a few minutes as the staff chatted with their backs to us, I walked over to the cash to grab a menu. The staff would neither move when I said excuse me nor acknowledge me. I grabbed a menu, at this point the server looked at me and said, “two of you?” I said there was a group of us coming and we just wanted to look at the menu quickly. Another server mumbled something at us under her breath. And they again turned their backs on us to talk. So we walked out. Super disappointing. A simple hello would have gone a long way in this situation but they really dropped the ball. We had heard the service was poor and it turned out...

As a community member in Port Burwell, I try to support the local establishments as much as possible. Unfortunately, I will never be able to support this place again. I am a kind, patient patron but my experience here led me to bring it to the attention of the staff that I was disappointed, and all I received was an “ok” no apology, no explanation, just an “ok”. Like they were unbothered by their customers dissatisfaction, and just went on with their day. Upon entry, I waited to be seated - expected - was greeted by “grab a seat and we will try and help you” TRY?? So we grab our desired table, which was still dirty from the previous guests (all open tables were dirty) we wait, and watch more guests arrive, and some leave, some guests get a menu, some get drinks, yet we were still left with a dirty table without any acknowledgement. We waited 37 minutes, 3 different waitresses walked by our table at least 3 times each. At that point we decided to walk out and head to Kens Corner Store and get food to cook ourselves at home. Sad to say this isn’t the first time I’ve heard of this type of service at this place, but now finally experiencing it first hand, I’m disappointed. Hopefully Someone will buy the lighthouse across the street and actually make a good quality food establishment for locals and beach...
