I did work for the owners from April until the end of June 2025. They owe me $3975. They both said I would get paid, the wife before I started & the husband when I left - as of yet August 21, 2025 I've received no money. I did go in a few days later but the wife saw me coming in & immediately touched the cash register & was putting up a front. One of the servers asked if she could he.p me & I told her right away I was there to speak to Gail. Immediately Gail continued to act as if she was having problems with the cash register & said she didn't have time & it was going to take her hours before she would have any time. I'm not on welfare & do not receive assistance from the government. I have bills to pay like everyone else. Their meals are over priced. They don't want to pay me for the work I did but they expect people to pay the prices they charge to eat there. I guess that's how they treat seniors. Obviously one cannot trust what they say to you. The best form of advertising is word of mouth & at this point this place would be the last place to choose to eat at. It explains why they go thru so many hired help. I'm not nor ever was an employee - I needed part time work. I have bills to pay. At times I would treat myself to a meal there. On one occasion I found a mouse turd after I finished eating my meal. It was stuck to the little bowl of dipping sauce on the plate. I showed Gail the owner & she tried to tell me it was just a piece of the meal that got over cooked in the cooking oil. It definitely...
Read moreIf you do a web search for Blind River, Ontario there will be very few hits and you will learn that it is renowned for being mentioned in a song and in a movie. This needs to be rectified. The jewel of this area and possibly all of Ontario is a little restaurant called, simply, 17. My wife and I stopped here for dinner en route to Manitoba. Unfortunately, it was 8 pm on Sunday and they had just closed. Fortunately, we meet Ken, the owner, outside. He went back into the restaurant and asked the staff of they would be willing to stay open for us. They agreed and we were ushered in. My wife had the Greek salad and I had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. My burger and hand cut fries were delicious. They were cooked perfectly and the toppings were more than generous. The Greek salad was unbelievable. It was the best Greek salad my wife has ever had in her life. She said each bite was another reminder that all is ok in the world. It brought tears to my wife's eyes. Literally. It is first time she has ever finished a large Greek salad. The picture of the empty plate bears witness. The owners and staff of this restaurant went over and above in serving us. We shall remember this visit always. If you are ever within 3 days drive of this place, stop in. You won't be disappointed. Small town, huge...
Read moreI've been coming here for lunch the past 4 days as I've been out here for work. First 2 days the food was amazing!! Taco burger was cooked with a bit of pink in thr middle making it juicy and flavorful! The 3rd day the burger was well done which I didnt enjoy so today on the 4th day I requested it medium rare cooked and was denied because its not a stakehouse... all times we've been here we had to wait a considerable amount of time just to get a menu. The bun on the burgers is probably the best bun I've had on a burger!! 3rd time we came here none of the burgers came with lettuce for some reason... And today my coworker asked 5 times for his chocolates milk.. amd we waited 15 minutes before being given a menu.. the Greek salad was also DROWNED in dressing to the point where I was almost gagging to eat it.. I could have doubled the lettuce and it still would have been too strong and im one for flavourful meals and I usually put more dressing than the average person, so I recommend asking for your dressing on the side that way you can make it thr way you want to.
Edit: Ordered the Jalapeno poppers and the BLT chicken burger Both 10/10
Overall this is a really cute little place and the food is good, but its inconsistent at times. I'd still...
