Renegades Diner — Restaurant in Bluewater

We went for brunch today after a morning of shopping. I ordered an omelette and my companion Ordered the eggs Benedict. We sat and waited for our breakfast for a full 45 minutes before they appeared. Other diners arrived at the establishment 30 minutes after we did and were served their breakfast way before we received our meals.

We asked our waitress when our food was going to arrive when we hit the 40 minute mark and she told us it was on its way. When the food arrived we expressed our displeasure over the time we had to wait and she provided a lame “I’m sorry” and shrug.

While our wait was enough reason to be unhappy, the food itself was lackluster. My omelette was rubbery and seemed like it had been under a heat lamp for quite a while, and my spuds were barely warm. My companions’s eggs Benedict were served on an almost burnt English muffin and the hollandaise sauce looked more like yellow coloured whip cream rather than sauce. The waitress arrived to ask how our meals were and when we told her we weren’t very happy with them, she again gave us shrug and a “I’m sorry”.

We ate what we could and went to the counter to pay and again expressed our displeasure with our experience at the restaurant. There was no offer to make things right. We will not...

My family came to have lunch. Service was extremely poor. If we could give ZERO stars or NEGATIVE 100, we would. Highly highly recommend not coming here for anything. Rude staff and very unprofessional. Order was placed at 1240 (we know because my mom got a phone call at this time. There was no follow up. An hour into waiting, plates were given to the table and stated that food was coming. More than an hour passed, there was still no food. No update from the server. At this point everyone was hungry and decided to just leave. This is when the staff said “okay, we’ll just throw out the food”. “You have to know it’s a very busy restaurant”. No apologies for the late service. But instead we’re given a passive aggressive response. Unbelievable customer service and we will be telling you everyone we know to never come here....

We've passed by Renegades Diner in Bayfield numerous times and we thought we'd try it. The place is always busy, so we figured it has to be decent. It was more than decent. It was awesome. I got a Cowbell Shin Dig beer on tap to start. Cold, crisp and delicious. I then had the two piece Alaskan Pollock fish and chips. Incredible!!!! The batter was light and crispy, the fish was cooked to perfection and the fries were superb. I loved the red cabbage coleslaw and they provided just the perfect amount of tartar sauce. I am definitely going back and this time, I'll be trying the pizza, which is supposed to be the best thing they do. If that's the case, I certainly won't be disappointed.
