Bayfield Boutique Bed and Breakfast, Spa & Weddings — Hotel in Bluewater

We live near Bayfield and wanted to go somewhere special for our wedding night. Following the church ceremony and dinner in nearby Zurich, my wife and I made the short drive and had a wonderful experience staying at the Bayfield Boutique and Bed & Breakfast. On our arrival, all our needs for relaxation and comfort were cared for. We stayed in the newly added Champagne Suite, especially designed for Honeymooners! It was perfect, and Mary our host even included a Newlywed surprise! One highlight for me was actually a simple one. I really enjoyed the lovely fresh fruit dish included in the morning breakfast basket. My wife liked the decor, which artfully blended homestead warmth with modern lighting and amenities. It must also be noted how beautiful the gardens are. The property is extensive, with several areas to sit alone or in groups and enjoy the lush outdoor atmosphere. From the front door, it's only a few steps to the artizan shops, specialty stores, and fine dining that makes Bayfield one of the most popular tourist destinations along the Western Ontario Lakeshore. After checkout, my wife and I decided to take a walk down some of the sidestreets for a change. We come to Bayfield often and have visited many of the shops previously. The residential properties are beautifully kept and represent many interesting designs. My wife remarked that the community as a whole reminded her of trips she's made to Boston and the American east coast. My husband and I spent the weekend with Mary and John and cannot say enough about how wonderful they are from the moment we arrived Mary greeted us with a wonderful smile and welcome. We had the romance package which I suggest everyone do. on arrival we had a gourmet charcuterie board with local meat ,cheese (there was a cherry cheese that was amazing ) fresh figs a fig jam that I guarantee you will not put down our jar was empty. each morning we had a hot breakfast. the second morning we even had breakfast dessert homemade by Mary. John prepared our dinner of chicken,steak, sweet potato and fresh vegetables all done to perfection. Mary went out of her way to make my husband a homemade butter tart sundae when she found out he did not like blueberries. Their gardens and back deck are a sanctuary so peaceful and the jazz music made you want to sit out there all day. the personal touch we received was just out of this world we have stayed at many bed and breakfasts but this one just was so beyond our expectations. the night before we left our car broke down and we were unable to find a way to get it home 250km away. the kindness of this couple was just amazing not only did Mary offer the use of her caa card but she kept us apprised all morning of when they would arrive all while serving us breakfast. Their hearts are so generous to everyone Mary even offered money to the Caa driver so he could get lunch on his way. Last month, my husband and I had our intimate Sunday afternoon ceremony in the gorgeous gardens, followed by a lovely reception in the garden house for us and 38 of our closest family and friends. We were beyond pleased with the service we received.

B&B owners Mary and John are such kind, considerate, hard-working people, and along with their amazing team, they hosted a perfect day. Everyone loved it!

From the very beginning of the planning process, and the months leading up to it, Mary was there to answer all of my several emails within minutes to an hour. She also gave us a tour in early spring and went over every little detail then, and in the weeks leading up to the big day.

She gave trusted recommendations on flowers, hair, and makeup services, all of which I ended up using. She allowed us to include our own decor, photos, alcohol, party favours etc. if we wanted to, while using her own lovely linens and pieces of family china and glasses. We chose the Huron County menu, which was fantastic, and something my family still talks about. The same can be said about the cupcakes and cake, as well as the amazing breakfast we had the two nights we stayed in the Champagne Suite. We loved opening up our door to a basket full of food and coffee waiting, it was super cute and special.
