TERRIBLE Overall Experience... will NEVER cross their front door again. My husband and I went here for lunch for the first time. We have been curious about Don Cherrys since we moved to the area and thought we would try it out. It was a Tuesday afternoon 2:00. First thing, we ordered a bottle of wine and waters. When she came back with the wine and waters, we ordered two appetizers -- the bruschetta and the breaded cauliflower and even discussed those two choices with the waitress and she said they were very good and would be nice together to share. We also ordered our entrees. Being a Tuesday, they had the T-Bone entree on special so my husband ordered that. I ordered the fish and chips. Not five minutes had passed; we had barely had a few sips of our wine and BAM...here she comes with two plates.... ahhh, but not our appetizers. Nope! Enter our entrees! So okay, we didn't say anything figuring, well, maybe they're still coming and it's just a little slow or backwards or whatever. And there was only one, at most two, and then back to one table(s) she was looking after. It was empty in there, but she's rushing like the place is full on a Saturday night and she needs the table! Anyway, the gravy (with my fries) had a "hint" of warmth to it; not cold but far from warm. Beer-battered fish, eh, warm at most. Sadly, though, my husband's T-bone entree was dreadful. The side of sauteed mushrooms had hot and cold spots. And that T-bone was DEFINITELY NOT hot off any grill; again just warm. We are positive these entrees were microwaved. And right up to the bill, still no appetizers. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. No appetizers ever appeared (and they were not on the bill either so she never put the order in) and barely warm entrees with cold spots (definitely...
Read moreSo to start off, we have been loyal takeout customers, dropping by on a weekly basis here for the past year, since we moved to Bradford. We last got takeout last week of September 2024, where, as always we order the fish and chips. The fish and chips always comes in a pizza box and while the portion isn’t huge, it is enough for an average sized adult male. Today when we picked up the food, we noticed that the food was delivered in a box half the size and the fish, while still including 2 pieces, are now about the size of one of the pieces from before. I called into the restaurant and was informed that due to the menu change, the fish and chips now comes in a smaller sized portion AND still costs the same, but hey you now have an option to add a third piece for an extra charge. I understand that the economy in Canada sucks right now, but to be this level of unapologetically and unashamed greedy and ready to exploit your loyal customers, when your restaurant industry is already suffering due to Canadians being unable to afford food is beyond disgusting. Thank you, Perfect Szn owners, hope the upcharge on the fish & chips was worth it because you lost a loyal weekly customer.
Final note for anyone even thinking of going there to eat, the acoustics are so trash, you will have to scream at the people next to you to hear you. You couldn’t pay us to have a dine-in meal here. Guess due to the greedy owners, now it is also not worth...
Read moreI came here the other day for dinner with my girlfriend after hearing they had Donairs! As a proud East Coaster, I was excited to see a restaurant in Ontario serving a “Nova Scotia Donair.”
Unfortunately, when my food arrived, I was pretty disappointed. 😕 The meat looked like it came straight out of a can — kind of a spam-like texture, instead of the traditional thinly shaved gyro-style meat you’d expect.
The donair sauce was also very runny and lacked flavour. A classic donair sauce should be thicker, sweet, and savoury. I only managed to eat about a quarter of it before stopping. Honestly, it reminded me of a gas station donair (the kind that comes in a sealed bag) — and I’d actually prefer the gas station one over this.
The redeeming parts, though, were the fries, staff, and overall vibe of the place. The fries were amazing — perfectly seasoned and crispy! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the decor and atmosphere were really nice.
I understand that Perfect Szn doesn’t specialize in Donairs, but I think it’s something worth reviewing — especially for those of us craving a...
