Dixie Sweets & Restaurant — Restaurant in Brampton

Today I had a vegetarian thali at Dixie sweets. The three vegetable dishes I chose were Chana, mixed vegetables, and Mattar Paneer. The taste of all three dishes can best be described as being "off". Very off! I regularly eat at a variety of Indian restaurants in Brampton and beyond, and this was definitely the most disappointing meal I have had in memory. I was surprised because, in the past, the food here has been delicious. Until a year ago, they had a buffet which I used to visit frequently, along with my colleagues from work. It was our favourite place. Back to the present. What hasn't changed is that the Naan was perfect and the service is as friendly and quick as always. The ladies at the cash always provide prompt service with a smile. I also took home Samosas (3 for $1), and they where very enjoyable. I like buying samosas here because they are usually still hot. In closing I should mention that this restaurant is always busy with customers buying sweets. Although I have never bought sweets myself, I can only surmise that their sweets must be good. Because of the memories of the food I enjoy here in previous years, I will definitely give this restaurant another try in a few months time, when the memory of today's meal has faded. I've been coming to this place for more than 20 years, their food is always fresh, sumptuous, tasty and made to order. It's very affordable and servings are generous, it wouldn't hurt if the girls who are serving customers would SMILE more. Samosas are always freshly made and the green and red sauce that comes with it tastes excellent. You can also have an all you can eat dine in with variety of vegetarian and meat dishes. Their Chana Bhatura is very tasty and sometimes I eat the Bhatura with something else. This should be eaten sparingly because it is fried. I have also tried their Tandoori chicken and Chili chicken, if you are not used to spicy food, you can request the chilli chicken to be cooked mild. The customer service is so poor, yesterday I called 4 times and they did not take the call, when I said I am going to talk to your manager or owner then they did not even understand what I was saying. The only reason why I order food from here is because it’s 1 min away from my house. And honestly my brother and I spend almost 50-60$ everyday on their store. Being in Canada the girls working there Do not even understand English clearly. On the top of that they were calling me back to ask my name to which I replied I am a CUSTOMER whom you should take care of.
