I ordered an X-large pizza with the 4 toppings and it had its pros and cons. pros: crust was AMAZING. Slight charring (as should be with wood fire) but not burnt. The attractiveness of a wood fire oven is the slight charring and they delivered on that. Sauce wasn't bland and had a strong oregano taste. The toppings were fresh and the free additional toppings were flavourful and not overpowering. The pizza was light, crispy, and not overly thick.
cons: although the outside crust was perfect, the inside was doughy and very under cooked. With a wood fire oven the temp. usually runs a lot higher than a regular oven so you have to control the cooking by moving the pizza closer or further away from the flame. I'm guessing they kept it relatively close to cook it faster (and the learning curve they went through probably explains the older reviews about burnt pizza). Also, the cheese was a bit lackluster.
All in all, this place has a lot of potential. Their ingredients are on point. They just need to get more experienced with cooking with a wood fire. I'm giving them a 4 star because they're still pretty small and deserve a chance. Would I go there again? Yes. But I'd ask for the inside of the pizza to be cooked a little longer...and...
Read moreI called a restaurant to ask a simple question—whether their Alfredo sauce contained egg. Instead of a straightforward answer, the conversation quickly veered into an unnecessary discussion about how I was getting my order delivered. When I mentioned Uber Eats, the person on the phone, presumably the owner, began pushing their own delivery service, insisting they could only accept cash or debit because their "machine" conveniently wasn’t working for credit cards.
To make matters worse, they went on to suggest I order through SkipTheDishes instead, claiming it offered better service. It was evident that this was merely an attempt to avoid paying commission to delivery platforms while trying to dictate how I should place my order. The oversmart approach and lack of transparency were enough to leave a poor impression. If a business can’t be honest about something as simple as payment methods, I certainly wouldn’t trust them...
Read moreI'm not one to usually complain, but my experience at this pizza joint was so awful that I feel obligated to warn others. First off, the staff acted like they were doing me a favor by taking my order. No smiles, no "hello," just blank stares. When the pizza finally arrived (after a ridiculously long wait), it was cold and the toppings were all wrong. I tried to explain the issue, but the employee just rolled their eyes and walked away. Seriously? The pizza was practically inedible, the service was insulting, and the overall vibe of the place was just plain hostile. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. There are plenty of other pizza options out there where you'll actually be treated with respect and get a...
