I am not sure how to begin as the experience through out the place was terrible.
We ordered 3 things amritsari chaap “chef special” noodle spring roll paneer tikka
We were told order would take 15 mins but it took well over 40 mins to be given to us for dine in.
With much anticipation when we opened our first item which was “chef special” noodle spring roll it was such a disastrous first impression. Spring roll are made in a pastry sheet any which ways to which Punjabi chaap corner gave their own twist of kurkure version those who are not aware of kurkure version it’s basically batter of either bread crumbs or flakes in which any item is dipped. Noodles inside were over cooked and super scarce with no flavour at all and to top it all it had either 1000 island or tandoori sauce on top of it. Taste was very bland and not at all par. For $9 we got 6 small pieces which was totally not worth it, if the taste would had been any better could had appreciated it for that price.
Second we had paneer tikka - as the name suggested it was suppose to be a tikka but without any smoky flavour, frozen paneer marinated in some sort of masala and just either sautéed or grilled. Paneer was not Thawed properly it was very hard and chewy and again not even close to original flavours.
Lastly we had Amritsari chaap which we had twice before as well but this time around it was very average. They use a lot of cream and portion size of chaap has reduced from before.
Customer pays such hefty amount for dining out in return just expects to have a taste close to india if not the same. But no justice to the price nor flavour. This was my last visit to any of the franchise stores, would not recommend if you are looking for authentic taste but yes only if you want something to eat and not bothered about any...
Read moreHad marked of their locations to see if I can visit if I am nearby to try their chaaps. Was near this location so decided to pick up some lunch for the family. Extra brownie points to be vegan friendly and more importantly knowing what goes in every item and being able to eliminate dairy (butter, yogurt and paneer).
Chur Chur Chaap - wrapped in a tortilla which was disappointing, expected an Indian restaurant to serve in either a naan, kulcha, Roti or rumali roti. The flavour up to mark. The chaap roll looks deceivingly small but packs a punch and you are full even after half or three quarters of it.
Chatpata Chaap - same as above. Very satisfying till the last bite.
Veg Tandoori Momos - Didn’t think there was a tandoor oven at the back and didn’t get baked for sure. Would have loved some char or smoky flavour. A female alone at the back made our entire order in 15 minutes. The taste was good, but could have been exceptional if baked in a tandoor.
Chaap Rogan Josh - was the absolute bomb in taste. The best Rogan Josh in a long time. The only thing was there was less chaap pieces and more gravy. More chaap pieces and it would be perfect.
Kulchas - Assumed they were freshly made, but turned out to be store bought naans (Costco?). When a restaurant does that, it was disappointing to...
Read moreHave been eating at the mississauga location with no problems. Went to this brampton location today for the first time. Ordered momos and malai soya chap. Momos were great but there was a LONG BLACK HAIR STUCK to one of the chaap. I went back and asked the guy to just return it. He was kind enough and told me if I wait 5 minutes he would make me a fresh order. The second time, I opened the box outside store in my car just to make sure and surprise surprise ANOTHER black hair stuck on the chaap. Went back to the guy and showed it to him and told I don't want any credit or new order but this is disgusting, that too in pandemic when we should be taking extra caution. He was in shock as well but couldn't do much. He assured me that the kitchen staff was wearing nets and it's probably because of the chaap that they get would have arrived with the hair. Didn't have time so I left but just wanted to make the owner and the customers of this location aware of hygiene issues here. If the issue is not in the kitchen but with the company that supplies them soya, it's even more worrisome. My honest advice, your food tastes good, your staff is good but it only takes things like these to shut down good restaurants. ...
