When I have to buy lunch I seek independent businesses. This one is a gem! Small dining area with a few tables. Lovely service and amazing food. I stopped after a business meeting nearby and stayed here to eat. The food they made was all fresh and delicious. I had the BHT (Bacon Ham & Turkey) with a side of fries. Portion was huge too!

While I was dining I had to break out my laptop to work on something urgent. One of the owners was nice enough to clear my plate and offer me a coffee. I pulled out my wallet and she told me not to worry about it as I’d been a paying guest already. Incredibly nice gesture. While I worked here I saw a number of clients come in that were clearly very familiar with the place. The warm and kind greeting of all kinds of people (2 quiet older gentlemen, a mother with 3 kids and 4 well-behaved teenagers) was so lovely and great to see. Been coming to Sam's for the last two years. Every friday is our tradition because we leave early from work back to Guelph, Sam knows my order and my name just by my voice when he picks up the phone . If that doesnt speak for itself then let me tell you how amazing sam and his boy are at making delicious food and catering to your every need .

They make sure everything is perfect before it goes out the door. Very generous and caring people all around. The only reason I'm giving this a 2 star rating rather than a 1 star rating is because of some of the humble and friendly staff.

The issue with this establishment is the food. The "Poutine" they serve does not have cheese curds; this is pure laziness and false advertising. The gravy they use on the poutine and other such items is canned, not warm and chunky. Please do not sprinkle shredded cheese on y poutine.

I figured this was a one off; I gave them another chance. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish doesn't have a crunchy batter; it's soaked in oil, and the fish and fries did not come with a sheet of paper in the bottom so the grease pooled and made the food more soggy.

I would not recommend this place to anyone; the prices are good but the food...
